Daniel Wonders, who recently purchased George Latimer’s meat market, took charge on Monday.

Roy Laurer, who has been the guest of relatives here, has gone to DuBois, from which place he will go to the home of his parents at Boise City, Idaho.

The elaborate decorations of the state at Educational hall the night of the commencement were planned and carried into effect by Clarence Rogers, who graduated in the art at New York a few years ago.

Paul Blakeslee and Fred Pealer left last week for Eagles Mere, where they will act as bell boys in the Crestmont In this season.

Arthur Clapp, George Crawford, Fred Hoffman and Willis Goodenow are home from State College for the summer.

H. M. Dugan, of Muncy, Saturday, purchased the old Main St., school building in South Williamsport, and will transform the structure into a mill for the grinding of cereals of all kinds.

Lester Sedam, state forestry inspector of Tyrone, is spending a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Sedam.

Headline: Ben Franklin Stores Buy Ray Sprout’s

Frank Reuther, of Muncy, and Harry Miller, of Montgomery were admitted to the Muncy Valley hospital for treatment of minor gunshot wounds suffered through the accidental discharge of a gun while they were attending a skeet shoot near Muncy.

A terrific thunderbolt at 4:00 o’clock Monday morning awakened just about every citizen in town, who realized that lighting had struck somewhere very close. It had. The bolt struck the mammoth tree in front of the old Sprout homestead, now occupied by the Rev. W.F. Steck, in North Main street.

Two cars figured in a crash at Halls Station Monday night at 10:45 o’clock resulting in about $150 damage. Henry Whipple was Hughesville was traveling south and Max Murray, of this place was going north. Whipple attempted to turn left to enter Route 654 and failed to clear the intersection before the Murray vehicle crashed into the rear of his car.

Ninth grader Betty Kast brought Muncy high school another championship on MOnday night at South Williamsport when she won the county spelling bee for junior High school students.

Miss Donna Reece, of near Muncy, weds Dale Robbins, of Unityville, on April 14.

Mayor Harold L. Keller of Muncy his week commended Donald Berninger and the Muncy high school marching band for the national acclaim won at Washington in the recent Cherry Blossom Festival parade.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Guisewhite gave a birthday party for their daughters Nancy and Janet.

On the occasion of their 10th wedding anniversary, MR.and Mrs. Earl Fry entertained the members of their wedding party at their home near Muncy Saturday evening.
