Thursday, July 9, 1903

Grant Leiser and Miss Maud Derr, both of this place, were married at the home of the bride on South Main Street Saturday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Geasey announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessie, to Charles C. Scott, of Williamsport. The wedding will take place at Williamsport on Monday, July 22.

Misses Mabel Walton, Rebecca Banzhaf, Sarah McGowan, May Barbour, Mary Rauch and Elsie Winegardner visited Miss Edith Gundrum at Eagles Mere on Saturday.

The seven-year old son of Monroe Shipman, was taken Wednesday morning to Baltimore, where he will undergo treatment at the Pasteur Clinic for hydrophobia, as the result of being bitten by a dog.

Word has been received by Muncy friends of the marriage of Leon C. Stone, of Ogdensburg, and Miss Daisy Small of this place, at Canton, on June 29th.

Sunday about 10 o’clock, fire broke out in the Banghart house occupied by Jack Taylor and family, the fire starting the garret from a defective flue.

Harry Rogers is traveling thru the coal regions this week on business for the Muncy Woolen Mills.

ON July 13, Muncy’s play ground committee is going to give an all day entertainment of parades, ball games and races, and promises to be one of the largest attractions ever staged in Muncy.

Thursday, July 8, 1937

Headline: D. G. Reed Loses Fingers on Right Hand-Local Barber’s Hand Drawn into High Powered Ventilator at Stover Hotel.

Walter H. Bartlow, 29, of Montgomery R.D. pleaded guilty before Justice of the Peace William S. Weaver, of this place, to the charge of Robbing the state liquor store at Montgomery, early Saturday morning.

Jay Lowry, 19, of East Water Street was treated at the Muncy Valley Hospital late Saturday from injuries to both legs, caused being struck by a car, as he was standing on the curb at the corner of Main and Water Streets.

Born: to Mr. and Mrs. DeLa Poust, on July 4th, a son.

Died: Mrs. Walter T. Hazel, of Ohio, died yesterday according to word received here at midnight last night; George W. Spring, 80, died at 1:45 last Thursday afternoon, July 14th at his home five miles east of Hughesville.
