Edward Heller, of this place has been appointed assistant Postmaster at the Muncy post office, by Postmaster W.F. Brittain, in place of Miss Sara DeLany, resigned.
On Saturday at this place the Muncy Ball Team played two games with the Williamsport Paper Co team and won both games. A new catcher has been secured by the home team in the person of Gus Fahnestock, the tailor.
S.B. Derr, employed by the Robinson Manufacturing company on Friday had the big toe on his left foot mashed by a piece of machinery falling on it.

Clyde Foust, 14 year old son of Benton Foust,, arrived home Tuesday night after making a tour of the country that ended in Shelby, Ohio. He is now a much wiser boy than when he left, unknown to his parents to start out to see the world.
About 11 o’clock on Wednesday morning, two battalions of the U. S. 29th Infantry, on a “hike” from Mt. Gretna to Elmira, arrived in Muncy and went into camp on the Coppes farm just north of Muncy. There were 500 soldiers including 20 commissioned officers.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Corson and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Corson are occupying their cabin along the Susquehanna.

Died: George W. Falls, aged 60, of South Williamsport, died at the Williamsport Hospital Sunday morning.
Mrs. Ethel Hagenbuch, of Turbotville, called on friends in Muncy on Tuesday.
Harry P. Rogers and family are home from Lake Mokoma for a few days.
Miss Eldora Budman, Mrs. Olive Glaze and Miss Laura Remsnyder attended the Firemen’s Carnival at Turbotville.

Area resident serving our country: TSgt. Franklin L. Herr, III, son of Franklin L. Jr. and Norma Jean Murray Herr of Muncy.
Jane Sedell has retired from the Muncy School District after 16 years of teaching at Ward L. Myers elementary school.
The Rev. Ronald N. Sytsma and his wife Carol spent June 30, the last Sunday before their official retirement, in worship and fellowship with parishioners and friends of Pleasant View Wesleyan Church, Penn Street, Muncy.
Approximately 60 swimmers ages five through 16 from Muncy, Montgomery and Hughesville, began attending practices in early June to prepare for the Tri-Town Swim team meets which run from June 18 to July 27.
Store front dressings are making a visible improvement in the “look” of downtown Muncy. A concerted effort is being made by merchants, as well as members of the Downtown Action Committee, to create appealing window displays on the spirit of patriotism.
