State Dashes Hopes of Using Kunz Pool; Other Sites Nixed-In all likelihood, there will not be any swimming sessions as a part of the Muncy summer recreation program this year, it was indicated this week.
A three-cornered business deal involving change of ownership of several Muncy businesses was shaping up this week, but complete details are not all available publicly. Betty’s Dress Shop owned by Albert Henry and operated in recent years by Mrs. Jordan Schooley, will be closed in its present location on June 27 and will reopen that weekend in the Alexander Radio-TV storeroom.
Mrs. C. R. Warg and daughter Carlene spent the weekend with the former’s daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Glenwood Smith, at Wyomissing.
Mrs. Jeremiah Springer, retiring President of the Montgomery unit of the Muncy Valley hospital auxiliary was honored recently at the Milton Hotel.
Wedding plans have been announced by Miss Ruth Ann Lowe. She will become the bride of Arthur L. Ohl on June 29.
Richard Gray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl B. Gray, of Hughesville, recently was promoted to the position of manager of traffic procedures with the primary responsible of maintaining up-to-date reservations and ticket counter procedures for the Southern Airways Systems.

As of presstime on July 9, missing Alzheimer’s sufferer Joe Eshelman had not been located. Eshelman was seen walking near Musser Lane and McKay Road, Muncy, about 11 a.m. on Sunday.
Muncy’s R.J. Patrizio Community Pool offered a fun in the sun respite to the sweltering atmosphere on Monday afternoon. A popular summer spot for all ages, the daily average attendance for this season is around 165.
The 132nd Annual Lycoming County Fair will be held from July 11-20.
Michael Myers, 20, and his family of Unityville, recently returned from a trip to tourist spots in Florida, compliments of “Dreams Come True”, a program that turns dreams into reality for challenged young people.
