Headline: Council to Help Develop New Locust Hills Residential Area
Larry Long, well-known Muncy man who was seriously injured when his car smashed into a utility pole near LaPorte early Saturday, July 7, was reported resting comfortably.
Jerry E. Stauffer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Stauffer, recently spent ten days at his home before leaving for a tour of duty with the U.S. Navy in Kodiak, Alaska.
The fifth annual high school picnic was held at the Van Rennselaer park pavilion on July 8 for alumni and friends of the Picture Rocks High School. Some 150 persons attended.
Don Myers and Bud Haynes are pacing the Hughesville Travelers in hitting over the first half of the season. Myers in 11 games has 14 for 37 while Haynes in all 17 games has 25 for 69 including five of the team’s total of nine homers. Dale O’Connor is the leading pitcher with a 4.3 mark on 50% inning os pitching.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Laird have returned from Tampa, Fla. where they attended the funeral of her father. B.E. Renn.

Deaths: Willis S. Titman, died suddenly at his home on South Main street on July 7; B.E. Renn, 84, former Muncy resident.

Area resident serving our country: Kody Stroble graduated from Muncy High School June 2001 and attended Recruit Training Command in the Great Lakes, IL.
Michael and Joy Olcott of Muncy have started the independent Awake the Saints church.
Alzheimer’s sufferer Joseph Eshelman of Muncy was last seen for certain on July 7 along River Road near Musser Lane, Muncy, after he walked away from the Our House Too personal care home in Muncy.
The Levan family and the Heiserman family of Muncy have enjoyed hosting Levan Bourne of Prospect in the Bronx and Joshua Alvarado for a summer stay at their home through the Fresh Air Fund.
Kelly Marie Norton, of Forksville, became the bride of Jason William Knight of Muncy on April 20.
