Thursday, Dec. 23, 1903
Frederick W. Trumbower died at the home of his father, A.C. Trumbower, last Monday afternoon, from tetanus, resulting from a badly cut foot, which he sustained about ten days ago while working on one of his father’s timber tracts.
Among the student of Bucknell University who are home for the holidays are John Banshaf, Thomas Wood, Romain Hassrick, Eri Farr and George DeWald.
Bessie and Laura Leinbach, Fan Bodine, Annadell Harris and Ralph Winegardner attended a dance at Watsontown Monday evening.
The Pewterbaugh Brothers, of Pennsdale, operating on the Loyalsock, below Laporte, have sawed about 2,000,000 feet of lumber for Mr. Edward Ives since last March.

Thursday, Dec. 26, 1912
Gus Updegraff, a resident of Muncy, was shot and killed by Donald Strieby, of near Montoursville, Monday night, while is the act of stealing chickens. Strieby gave himself up Tuesday and entered bail of $1,000 for a hearing.
On Christmas day, Mr. and Mrs. John VanBuskirk, celebrated their 63 wedding anniversary. Both are active and enjoying good health, and command the respect and admiration of the younger generation.
Born: To Mr. and Mrs. John DeWald, on Christmas morning, a son.

Ritz Theatre Enchanted Land During Holidays-Children Are Given Free Shows This Afternoon by Manager Harold M. Larned.
The marriage of Miss Marion Fahnestock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Fahnestock, of his place and Richard E. Boak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Boak, of Hughesville, was announced at a party given by Miss Jeanette Hester, at her home last Thursday. The couple was married at Hagerstown, Maryland Oct. 18, 1937.
Ray Miller of Bloomsburg, who was injured on the Muncy-Montgomery highway, died at the Bloomsburg Hospital, Sunday night.
Muncy’s new fire truck was called to Montgomery about three o’clock Sunday afternoon when sparks from a steel welding torch had set fire to a straw stack near the new river bridge.
Died: The Rev. N.H. Schenck, aged 89, died Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cleon C. Worthington.

Died Maude E. Logan age 87, died Dec. 3 in Lewisburg Evangelical home.
Births: Mr. and Mrs. James Arms of Calif., a son, Gregory Scott, Nov. 29. The mother is the former Jean Louse Lowe, formerly of Muncy. The father is also a former Muncy resident.
Mr. and Mrs. Dean Shippy, of Del. a son, Randall Dean, Nov. 27. The mother is the former Ava Jo Hilner daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Hilner, Hughesville.

The Muncy School Board voted 6-3 to purchase the Margaret Waldron Building that includes the assignable lease agreement with Lycoming County for the district magistrate’s office.
On Dec. 10 Brumman Olson, Montgomery, announced to its employees that the company had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy but there would be no interruption in completing present contracts.
Muncy seniors Mark Poblete and Clayton Barr were among those qualifiers scoring high enough to gain acceptance in the the District Band Festival.
