Thursday, Dec. 31, 1903

Mr. and Mrs. Rankin Edwards gave a reception on Christmas day in honor of their son, Herbert, and his bride, of New York City, who are spending the holidays here.

Last Thursday evening at the home of Samuel Compton, Thomas N. Ritter and Mrs. Elizabeth Kulp, both of this place, were married.

L.L. Houseknecht, of this place, representative of Sprout, Waldron & Co. at Greensboro, N.C., spent Christmas with his family in Muncy.

A number of Muncy people have received invitations to the wedding of Miss Louise Wainwright Maris to Mr. Park Ross, on Tuesday evening, Jan. 16.

Charles Bodine and daughters Fannie and Maude spent Christmas with George Collins and wife in Williamsport.

Thursday, Jan. 2, 1912

Mrs. Henry J. Angle and grandson Leonard are the guests of the former’s son and daughter in Norristown and Philadelphia.

Charles Rooker, one of Muncy’s best known and native citizens, expired very suddenly early Friday morning at the plant of the Robinson Manufacturing company, where he was employed.

Egbert Hall, of Chicago, is the guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.P. Hall.

Thursday, Dec. 30, 1937

Three boys accused of having taken a light from one of the Xmas trees on Main street, were released upon the return of the light and promises to be at home at 65 o’clock each evenings and remain indoors evenings for the next two weeks.

J.C. Thomas of Muncy has purchased the business block occupied by “Lee’s” south of the New Crawford.

Born: To Mr. and Mrs. James M. Brittain on Wednesday night, Dec. 29, a son.

Died: John C. Decker, Montgomery, 68, died Tuesday; George Mulligan, age 60, died Wednesday morning, after an illness of pneumonia; Latimer P. Smith, 60, died Dec. 23.

Marine Private George C. Lupold, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Lupold, Muncy, has completed recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Births: Mr. and Mrs. William Fowler, Montgomery, a daughter, Brenda Lee, Dec. 12. Mother former Alice Spangler; Mr.and Mrs. Harvey Sullivan, Jr., Hughesville, son, Gregory Montague, Dec. 13. Mother former Betty Montague; Mr.and Mrs. Max Robbins, Muncy, a son, Dec. 17. Mother former Mary Benchino.

Miss Elva Cruse, of Bristol, is coming to the home of her brother and sister, Ernest and Miss Ethel Cruse, for the Christmas vacation.

Mr. and Mrs. G. V. Hall are spending Saturday and Sunday with their daughter at Doylestown.

Mrs. Randall Ellis has returned home from the Muncy Valley hospital where she was a medical patient for a few weeks.

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Zehner and son Gerald recently returned from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While on their trip, they observed their 30th wedding anniversary Dec. 8.
