The Muncy Luminary
Thursday, July 14, 1904
The Lutheran congregation decided on Sunday morning by a unanimous vote to purchase two vacant lots from the Langceake estate on West Penn street, on which to erect their new church building.
Friday evening an interesting game of ball was played at Muncy ball park, the opposing team being Montoursville, The score was 4-1, in favor o f Muncy. Montoursville did not get a hit off Parsons, and but 29 men faced him in the 9 innings fanning out 17 men.
Bryfogle’s new green houses are progressing finely. Last Saturday he set out two thousand choice rose bushes.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Corson, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Corson, Mr. George Banzhaf are spending some time camping along the Susquehanna.
Leonard Colley and cousin, Miss Keefer, of DuBois, are spending several days at Lairdsville.
Miss Rosetta S. Montgomery has accepted a position at the Castles on the Hudson. She will be at the English Department.

Miss Betty Saxton will be the guest of honor this evening at a buffet supper in the garden at the home of Miss Fannie Wood.
Franklin Hall, who recently purchased the Five Point School, in Lewis Township, Northumberland County, from Edward S. Frey, has started remodeling the building into a residence.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Croman, of Hughesville, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Mildred, to Clifford E. Warg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Warg of this place.
Died: Mrs. Louise Snodgrass, aged 73, died Friday morning, July 8, after a lingering illness; George W. Snyder, aged 81, Muncy, died at his home July 10.
