On Saturday evening at the rectory of St. James Episcopal church the rector, Rev. A.R. DeWitt, united in marriage Joshua McCowan, of this place, and Miss Elsie Bull, of Lairdsville.

Born: To Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rogers, a daughter, on Oct. 1.

While Mrs. A. R. DeWitt was riding her bicycle yesterday afternoon she was thrown off and quite badly injured her knee.

Miss Margaret Bair of this place will take charge of the school which is now being taught by Lamonte Green at Okome.

Miss Lillian McCarty has secured a position as assistant bookkeeper for the Grit PUblishing Co. in Williamsport.

Thursday, Oct. 8, 1913

The Muncy High School football team won the first game played this season by defeating St. Joseph’s team of Williamsport on Saturday by a score of 26-0.

Emerson Hassrick, George Banzhaf and A.G. Tallman are at Philadelphia, to take in the Word Series of baseball.

Nearly all of Muncy’s hunters have secured their license tags, and are making preparations to get out early on Oct. 15.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Ernest Herr of Muncy announce the marriage of their daughter, Mildred Arlene, to Donald L. Stiger, son of Henry Stiger, of Hughesville, which took place Sept. 3 at Frederick, Maryland.

Joseph Waltman and Clifford Wentzler, accompanied by their coach, Robert H. Rumler, county farm agent, left today for Columbus, Ohio, where, as state championship 41H dairy team they will compete in the national contest.

The citizens of Muncy were grieved to learn on Monday morning of the death of Daniel B. Taggart, aged 60, who died Sunday night at his home on Man street following an illness of only an our.

A 6-month old baby girl died of strangulation at the Muncy Industrial Home for Women yesterday afternoon when its head became caught under the backrest of one of two benches arraigned to form an improvised crib.

Clayton Boudeman, Muncy, has been hired as operator of the sewage disposal plant for the Borough of Muncy.

The annual fall “Sidewalk Days” sales promotion of the Muncy Business Bureau will not be conducted this year, members decided at a special meeting on Sept. 10.
