A kitchen shower was given Mr. and Mrs. William Venrick on Monday evening by a number of their friends, in honor of their wedding anniversary.
C.J. Narber has opened a shooting gallery in the opera house block. Mr. Narber’s stay here will be only for a sort time and all who enjoy this sport should give him a call.
Lloyd Baker, who for the past thirteen years has been head clerk in L.S. Smith and Son’s big store, has resigned his position, and will leave shortly for New York City, where he has accepted a position.

Aaron Rothfuss, of Rochester, N.Y., who is visiting his father, Mathias Rothfuss, accidently shot himself through the foot while hunting near Halls on Saturday afternoon. Dr. H.S. Weigle dressed the wound.
Frank Brittain has secured a position in Perrysville, N.Y. and will move to that city in a few days.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Howard Waldron entertained about thirty of the little friends of their son, John, at a Halloween party on Friday night.

From the Aberdeen, S. Dakota paper we clip the following: “Miss Mary L. Whitney and her sister, Mrs. Anna H. McKillip, of Muncy, Pa., arrived Thursday afternoon to vista their sister, Mrs. M. Ethel Lavery.
Harry Corneulson and Eugene Merrill, of Muncy, who have had a special assignment for entry in the U.S. Army, have been transferred from Fort Slocum, N.Y., to a five-month Radio training as Radio Operators in Oceanport, N.J.
Mrs. Clarence Butler, of Mechanic street, narrowly escaped what might have been a serious injury, when she stepped into her back yard on Monday. A stray shot, fired by some hunter in the nearly fields, struck Mrs. Butler just above the eye.
Died: David T. Rishel, aged 75, formerly of Hughesville, died Monday afternoon; Rev. Ellis E. McKelvey died on Oct. 27 in the Williamsport Hospital following an operation at the age of 71.

Evidence of the ever-expanding business operations at Sprout, Waldron and Co., Inc., Muncy’s largest industry, comes this week with the opening of a new contract and systems division with specially created headquarters at the Muncy plant.
Judy Springman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Springman, of Pennsdale, will represent Muncy in this year’s Flaming Foliage pageant in Renova.

Excitement was high at Bloomsburg last weekend where Muncy toppled Bloom in the season opener.
Miss Elizabeth Ann Hofer, Pennsdale, became the bride of Mr. Forrest Allen Medley, of Winfield, Kansas on May 28.
Helen Daniels, originally from the Philippines, and has lived in Muncy for almost a year after moving from Texas, recently joined The Luminary staff as a typesetter.
