Thursday, Dec. 15, 1904

David Arthur, son of Mrs. Sarah Arthur took rough on rats on Monday of last week, and died from the effects on Thursday morning at 9 o’clock.

The Misses Annadel Harris, Louise Hess, Mary and Martha Brittain, Blanche Coulter and Elsie Winegardner, attended the play in the Lycoming Opera House in Williamsport last Saturday.

J.E. Coulter and Harry Weaver of Montoursville, and John Tallman and Samuel Coulter, of this place, drove to Lairdsville and attended a game dinner last Friday.

Thursday, Dec, 18, 1913

Judge Alvin Johnson of Lewisburg and Miss Mary Steck, of Muncy, were married in the Lutheran Church of the Epiphany, in Washington, D.C. on Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Bruce Corson and John Geasy have gone south to join the Smith Carnival Co. in North Carolina.

Bruce Daly, an employee of the Roland Bartlow Service Station was saved from possible serious injury last Thursday by the presence of mind of several nearby persons, who rolled him on the ground when his clothing caught on fire.

Murray Jacob, of Muncy, and Miss Laura Whitmire, of Hughesville, were united in marriage last Thursday evening in the Evangelical parsonage at Sonestown.

MIchael Aldish was re-elected to his term as president of the Muncy Joint School board at the reorganization meeting on Monday night.

Dr. R.J. Patrizio has been named chairman of the home decoration contest for this Christmas season in Muncy with Ward Myers, Robert Rinn and Fred Preuss to serve on the committee.

There has been no ruling of any kind on singing of Christmas carols in the public schools, the state attorney general’s office has advised local PTA officials.

Formal dedication of the newly opened Pleasant View Pilgrim church just east of Muncy take place at a special ceremony this Sunday.

Announcement has been made of the engagement of Miss Barbara Hinkle, Montgomery, to Richard Stratton Rhone, Muncy.

Keith Taylor, Hugheville’s great 120-pound state wrestling champ, was put out of action for an indefinite period when he suffered a severe knee injury in practice this week.

Mrs. Carol Sheets, Picture Rocks, entertained at a stork shower for Mrs. Gladys Shultz recently.

Last Friday morning at 4:30 a.m. as Bruce Storm descended the steps in his home on Muncy’s Main street to allow his two dogs some “outdoor” time he spotted broken glass and after police were called it was determined a coyote was behind a chair in his living room.

Since Richard and Betty Neff retired from the educational field, former Muncy residents share similar hobbies, he services Singer Featherweight sewing machines while she is a quilt instructor.
