All Muncy joins today in wishing a Happy birthday to Mrs. Sallie Crawford, guest at the Muncy Valley Hospital’s Geriatric unit, who was born 100 years ago on Feb. 27, 1864.

Muncy’s BowlArena, a mecca of community entertainment since it was built in 1947, changed ownership last week, effective Friday, Feb. 21.

Seven members of the senior class at Hughesville have been selected for the May Court on May day: Phyllis Shaner, Jane Sones, Bobi-Lou Wetherill, Tanya Michael, Genevieve Hall, Shirley Confer and Melody Fox.

Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Betty A. Sones, daughter of Mrs. Emma Sones, Sonestown, and the late James Sones to Artley VanBuskirk. Mr. VanBuskirk is the son of Mrs. Florence VanBuskirk, of Hughesville.

The Baptist Church of Picture Rocks was the scene of the marriage of Miss Gloria Jeanne Houseknecht, Picture Rocks, to Ronald Charles Green, of near Hughesville.

Mr. and Mrs. Kimber L. Barto, of Hughesville, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Emilie L. Barto, to Jon A. Kuntz.

Muncy native, Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Duane Lamper, son of Dennis and Linda Lamper of Pennsdale, serves aboard the Tennessee and is a plankowner on the vessel, an honorary distinction given to the members of a ships commissioning crew.

The engagement of Tomlya Michaele Lusman to Timothy Charles Oakes has been announced by their parents.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl T. Fry, Muncy, have announced the engagement of their daughter Melissa R. Fry to Jeffrey R. Thomas, of Montoursville.

Denise Grittner, tenth grade student at Montgomery Area High School has been chosen to attend the 1989 Central PA Leadership SEminar.

Area resident serving our country: PFC Justin D. Gardner was deployed to Iraq on Feb. 11, 2004. The 2002 graduate of Hughesville High School is the son of Debra and David Gardner, and the soldier has two brothers, Madison and Brenden.

Rich Tamagno and daughter, Katie, of Muncy, attended the National Right to Life March on Jan. 22 in Washington, D.C.

Breaking into business is not new for Debbie and Bill Sampsell, proprietors of Kinsley Primitives, but a place to offer the items to the public in new. The Montgomery couple has constructed a cottage for their rowing industry, worthy of housing the primitive items they make.

After recently winning a district grocery bagging contest held at the Giant Food Store in Loyalsock Township, Sharon Snyder, Muncy, competed in State College on Monday in a regional competition where she placed fourth from a group of 12.
