Headline: $82,280 Muncy Borough Budget Adopted; Street, Drainage Projects Planned

An emergency which could have proved even more disastrous than it was developed at the Muncy high school over the weekend when a water-pipe burst in the boiler room.

Three seniors from Muncy high school have had their poetry manuscripts accepted for publication by the 1964 National Anthology of High School Poetry: Marilyn Corson, Robert Detrick, and Doris Jean Geringer.

The daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Chenault, Picture Rocks, on Feb. 8.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Miller and family have moved into the Waltman home on Center St., Picture Rocks.

The Rev. and Mrs. B.G. Hoffman, who marked their 48th wedding anniversary last month, were guests of honor at a surprise party at their home following chancel choir rehearsal.

Miss Jeanne Odell, of Washington, D.C., was the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Odell sr., last weekend.

Selinda and Bill Kennedy are becoming well-known around Muncy. Both are accomplished artists in their own rights, Bill with Kennedy Firearms and Selinda with her baskets and many other creative innovations.

Krisinda Girven, Shannon Vermeulen, and Heather McCaslin, of Muncy, have been selected to represent Pa. 4-H in an international exchange to Japan this summer.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lowe, Muncy, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on March 1.

Area resident serving our country: SPC Cynthia Kibby, was deployed to Iraq April 11, 2003 following the callup of her Williamsport National Guard reserve unit. Kibby is the wife of Muncy native Nathan Kibby.

Third-grade students enjoyed cross country skiing last Friday, instructed by physical education teacher, Dan Smith.

Volunteers from the Muncy First United Methodist Church prepared potato yeast doug for frying in preparation for the annual Shrove Tuesday doughnut sale fundraiser.

Kyle Johnson, Muncy’s grappler (125 lbs) will be competing at the Regional Tournament this weekend.

Denny Warg-Class of 1962 and Lon Balum-Class of 1973 were elected to Muncy High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Eric Booth, Hughesville, was honored Saturday evening during induction ceremonies of the District IV wrestling tournaments held in Williamsport.
