A very pretty wedding occurred Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C.B. VanDine when their daughter, Miss Ida Mary, was united in marriage to Harry Painter Rogers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Rogers.
The business at the Muncy post office has increased so during the past year that on July 1st, the office will become a second class office, which will give Postmaster Brittain an assistant postmaster and one clerk.
A fire which broke out at 2:00 Sunday morning in the heart of the business section of William-sport, did $50,000 worth of damage before it was put under control, three hours later.

Harry Snodgrass has sold his property on Carpenter St. to Chas. Budman, who recently opened a blacksmith shop on Water street. Mr. Budman will move into his new home in a few days.
Mr. and Mrs. Murray Zealor have closed their restaurant in the opera house block and are visiting friends in Bath, NY., before going to Akron, Ohio, where they will have charge of an amusement park this sumer.
Frank Revision, the tailor, has had the barn on the rear of his property, on Main street, torn down, and workmen are now engaged in erecting an addition to his present property, flats being made on the second floor.

William Elwood Bieber, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bieber, Muncy R.D. 3, was fatally wounded in the head at 9:30 Sunday morning, by the accidental discharge of a revolver, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Herr, near Norristown where he has been employed for the past two and half years.
Two fires in Muncy Township Monday afternoon caused a fire loss estimated at $550. The heaviest loss was sustained at the Lester Nuss home on Smith Poultry Farm. A “still” alarm to Port Penn, for a grass fire which proved to be a cabin on the bank of the Susquehanna, owned by Kenneth Anderson and Jack Hitesman.
The engagement of Miss Anna Jean Laubach, to Earl Gehrig, of Danville. Miss Laubach is a teacher in the Muncy–Muncy Creek High School.
The marriage of Miss Orpha Treaster, daughter of James Treaster, of Montgomery, to Mr. J. Hughesville Phillips, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Phillips, of Muncy has been announced.
Died: Louise Eicher, 78, died Sunday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mae Nagel, Williamsport; Bert Foresman, 67, of this place, died early Sunday morning following an illness of several months.

Relatives and friends of the Sterling Herr family of this area were expressing concern early this week when no word had been heard from any of them since the earthquake in Alaska last Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Lowe, Muncy, observed their 30th anniversary on March 31.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Lucas returned home Monday by plane from Puerto Rico where they spent 10 days visiting his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. James Earnest.
For the second year in succession, Muncy high school has produced a third place winner in the Insurance Information Institute’s driver’s safety essay contest. Honored this year is Miss Susie Campbell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Campbell and her award was a $25 U.S. savings bond.
Mrs. Lois Showers and children Robert, Jean and Kim have moved to the Frantz apartments on North Main street, Picture Rocks. They formerly lived at McEwensville.

Hallie Mingle, Muncy, stopped in The Luminary to pick up her first place prize in our Easter Coloring Contest.
A hat parade was held at the R.E.A.C.H. Pre-school last Wednesday in the St. John Lutheran church, Montgomery. Winning prizers were the funniest-Carrie Bosch; most unique-Seth Heasley; and prettiest-Adriane Berger.
Work is continuing at the R.J. Patrizio Pool in Muncy as a new circulation system and a concrete walkway around the pool are being installed.
