Married: On the 16th inst., in Muncy Creek township, by the Rev. Geo. Eichholtz, G. Morris Webb, of Muncy, to Miss Mary E. Worthington, of Penn township.
The public schools and the Normal opened on Monday with about 200 scholars.
The new Penn street sewer is in, and the engineer, Capt. Lloyd, and Street Commissioner, Eshbach have, to all appearances, done a good job.
The Watsontown Record calls for slower speed by railroad trains through that town, and says that four cows were killed by the fast line east last week.

While on his way to attend the fair at Hughesville last Wednesday morning, Benjamin H. Houseknecht, aged 85 years, was stricken with a sort of apoplexy and died before a physician could be called.
John D. Meek, of Allenwood, is the champion potato grower in the is section of the state. Last spring he planted four acres and carefully cultivated them. As a result of his care, last week he finished gathering a crop of over 1,400 bushels.

Announcing the Purchase of The Muncy Luminary-The Muncy Luminary, one of the oldest newspapers in the state of Pennsylvania, which in 1940 enters its 100th year of publication, has been purchased by Joseph Banks, Jr., of Harrisburg, from Wesley L. Mann, owner and publisher for the past decade. H.O. Lowery, formerly of Danville, will serve as editor.
Bring the ancient art of puppetry to Muncy, the Lessellie Marionettes, credited with having one of the most original and ingenious puppet shows in America, will present an entertainment at the Muncy-Muncy Creek School Nov. 10.
Two Scranton men were injured, one seriously, when the truck in which they were riding, was struck by a west bound freight train on Main Street, Montgomery yesterday afternoon.
F. H. Painter, superintendent of the Lycoming county schools at Williamsport, has been reappointed director of the speech and music contests in Lycoming County.
