The rink ball was well attended last Saturday evening. The music was furnished by the Hughesville band.
The Knights of Labor, which has about forty members here, has rented a large room on the third floor of Thos. Lloyd’s residence on South Main street for a ball.
Married: At the residence of the bride’s father. H.W. Petrikin, Esq., on Thursday, Nov. 12, 1885 by Rev. N.F. Stahl, T. Bridgens Painter, of Muncy, and Miss Sue L. Petrikin, of Montoursville.

Quite a little building is being done in Muncy this fall. Fred M. Sprout is erecting six bungalows on South Sherman street and three on West Penn Street.
Hunters chasing a wild duck to the island above the the river bridge at Mifflinville, Columbia county, Friday afternoon found the body of Fred Golder, eighteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Golder, of Nescopeck, who had been missing from home for a little more than a month.
Died: Pemberton Eves, Muncy, died Wednesday evening of last week at the advanced age of 87.

The Muncy Indians closed their 1939 home season by playing to a scoreless tie with Ralston, on the local Athletic Field Saturday afternoon before a crowd of 1,000.
Miss Ethel Opp became the bride of Donald L. Jacobs in a ceremony performed at the parsonage of the Methodist church Friday evening.
Three young men who resorted to fighting at a Hughesville, R. D. 1, beer garden settled their differences at hearings before Justice of the Peace W.S. Weaver, Main street, Monday evening. Oscar Miller and Henry Bower, both of Hughesville, were charged with assault and battery by Charles L. Shires of the same address. He withdrew the charges when Shires and Bower paid for his damaged clothing and paid the doctor’s bill, as well the costs.
Died: Mrs. Clara D. Walton, former local resident, widow of T. Hope Walton, was found dead at her room on Campbell street, Tuesday afternoon. She was aged 86; James Murray, 81, Muncy Creek township, died at his home Tuesday morning; Helen Louise Artley, Water street, died at her home here Tuesday morning following a lengthy illness. She was aged 37 years.
Final was paid to the memory of Frank M. Opp, West Penn street, whose death occurred at the Williamsport Hospital Monday.
Lycoming County experienced its first accidental death of the current small game season when Carl Cahm, 15, of Hughesville, died instantly Saturday morning when he accidental shot himself while hunting near Huntersville.

Mrs. Raymond Hill, Hughesville, attended the reunion of the 314th Infantry Regiment of the 79th Division, World War I in York last Saturday.
Muncy High School students, Kathryn Wood and Barry Toth, were honored at an assembly program for their high achievement on the national Merit Scholarship Qualifying test given at the school last spring.
