A movement for the division of Muncy township has taken shape, and the matter will be submitted to the voters at the coming election.

We are informed by E.B. STokes foreman of the Keystone Hook and Ladder company, that an application will be made to the town council for an appropriation to build a house in which to shelter the apparatus of that organization.

I.N. Smith, teacher of the Port Penn school, has resigned on account of loss of voice, and Sharon Castles will teach the term out.

Our former townsman, Robert Hawley, Esq., has been appointed postmaster of the city of Williamsport.

Dr. B. S. Langdon has been appointed a notary public by Gov. Hartranft.

Married: Robert Weiley, of this place, and Miss Mattie Jenkins of Williamsport, were married Tuesday evening. The will reside in an apartment on West Water street.

Died: Mrs. Rachel Catherine Coppes, died at her on on Main street Tuesday afternoon at 1:45 o’clock, after a long illness.

Members of the junior class of the Muncy high school sledded to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Borday at Halls Station where they were entertained on Friday evening.

The Muncy Motor company, authorized Buick dealer in the Muncy area, will cease operations shortly after Jan. 1.

Wedding vows were exchanged Dec. 12 by Miss Sherry Bennett and James R. Musser.

Thomas Myers, former Muncy resident and son of Mr. and Mrs. Ward L. Myers, of Muncy, has been named Pittsburgh district manager of the James Lees and Sons Company.

Births: Mr. and Mrs. Donald Vandine, Muncy, a daughter, Dec. 11. Mother former Mildred Holmes; Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Reynolds, Muncy, a son, Dec. 13. Mother former Ruth Sellers.

Died: Marianna Ciraulo, Muncy, Dec. 15; William C. Remsnyder found dead in his room at the Fort Brady Hotel. He had been in failing health; M. Waldo Hahn, former Muncy resident, Dec. 13.
