We regret to announce the death of George A. Snyder, Esq., of Williamsport, who died suddenly on the 6th inst. Mr. Snyder for several years past has been a correspondent to this paper and has contributed many articles of interest to our readers.
Died-In Philadelphia, on the 3rd inst., William P. Israel, uncle of the editor of this paper, in his 81st year.
Died- In this borough, on Monday, the 5th, Mrs. Katherine Rooker, aged 74 years and eight months.

The playground opened on June 7 with a very good attendance, although there are, a yet, few things with which to play, the children are, without exception, manifesting a great interest in all its departments.
Miss Sue S. Moyer, of Pennsdale, who is a sophomore at the Woman’s Medical college of PA, has won the Robinson Messner cash prize in a competitive examination first and second year anatomy of the human body.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Reeder will leave on the 15th of the month on an extended western trip.
The printing and binding plant of the Fred R. Miller Blank Book Co., n the Howe building at Williamsport, was destroyed by fire Tuesday morning.
Engagement announced of Mary Fountain to Prof. Frank H. Painter, principal of the Jersey Shore HIgh School, and son of George L. Painter, of this place.
Married at the home of the bridegroom, ,near town, Tuesday evening, June 8th, Mr. Blaine Miller and Miss Lucinda Fowler, of Muncy Valley.
Died-William Hervey Edwards died in the state hospital, Danville, on Wednesday of last week, after an illness of a few weeks, at the age of 54 years.
Williamsport experienced another robbery last Friday morning . Mrs. Wilbur A. Hornberger was knocked senseless, gagged and bound and the house looted.
Work will soon be started on the site of the state industrial home for women near the Muncy station of the Pennsylvania railroad.

Robert M. (Monk) Shaheen was in business at virtually the same old stand this week, despite the loss of his large showroom and garage west of Muncy in a spectacular $70,000 first last Friday afternoon.
C. Arwood Snyder, Business Manager at Muncy Schools for the past five years, has resigned his position to accept a similar position in the Milton Area Schools.
Brian Kennedy, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Kennedy, will become the first Muncian in recent history to have completed the course of study at the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis.
The senior class of Muncy high school has contributed $200 toward the purchase of a $1,300 electric scoreboard for the MHS football field.

Marriage announced of Miss Nancy Carol Haag, formerly of Hughesville, to Victor Lee Mackool, both of Miami.
Miss Bonnie Covert, daughter of Mrs. Harriet Covert, is spending her summer vacation at her home here. Miss Covert is a student at Bucknell university.

A happy reunion was enjoyed by two friends, Angela Myles Gillam, former Rotary Exchange Student from Australia and her original host “sister”, Sue Wilt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Wilt, Muncy.
Open house for the new Donald L. Boyer Memorial Apartments, Hughesville, was held Saturday.
Students of Mary L. Goodwillie presented their annual recital on June 3 at St. James Episcopal Church, Muncy.
The Sixth Annual Bed Race, a fundraiser staged for the benefit of Muncy Valley Hospital, will be held at Muncy High School on June 16.
Gene Pauling, Muncy, visited the White House recently and met Mrs. Barbara Bush.
