150 years ago

Rev. F.S. Haskill, of New York city, will preach in the Baptist church on Sunday.

A new train was placed on the Philadelphia and Erie railroad.

S.W. Reed, of this place, was robbed of $214 at a hotel in Washington.

The store of Henry Raup, in Turbot township, Northumberland county, was entered by a burglar Saturday night, July 8, the safe broken open and $450 stolen.

Dr. J.W. Eldred, formerly of this county, died at Lock Haven, of consumption.

Married-On Thursday evening July 1st, Mr. Daniel Poust and Miss Julia Eckman, both of Lycoming county.

Died-On the 29th of June at his residence in MIll Creek township, George King, aged 58 years, 6 months.

Died-In Muncy creek township, on July 9th, Henry Dimm, aged 73 years.

Mrs. P.L. Willits, of Philadelphia, is visiting her father, having been called to the bedside of her brother, Edward Cook.

Pennsylvania Deer and Their Horns, is a late work by Henry W. Shoemaker, who is an authority on Pennsylvania wild life.

Mr. and Mrs. Grant Taggart and children,Martha and Grant, of Savannah, Ga., arrived her Monday night in their automobile.

Division of the estate of W.S. Conner, of Ocean City, N.J., whose death occurred in May, will probably make T.F. Conner, of Bloomsburg, heir to some $70,000.

Charles Heebner, Jr., who is employed on a large sugar plantation in Cuba, is here to spend his vacation with his parents.

The Muncy Pool swim team finally won a match, its first in two years, and they celebrated by dunking everyone in sight…included was Sally Pfleegor, who went in the water fully dressed.

Miss Eleanor Winder, of Montgomery, exchanges vows with Lt. Stephen Anderson, Muncy, on July 10.

Engagement announced of Sharon L. Shafer, Hughesville, to Kenneth Fox.

Carl Barto, Sr., a recent recipient of the Montgomery “Person of the Week” award holds a congratulatory letter from state representative of the 84th district Alvin C. Bush.

The Bentley Bros. Circus is coming to the Lycoming County Fairgrounds to benefit the Williamsport Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 736, July 30 and 31.

At a regular meeting of the Muncy Borough Council, a presentation was made on behalf of the Muncy Area Chamber of Commerce. David Wallis, representing the organization, presented a check for $3,000 to be sued for a sign on the beltway.

Muncy Hall of Famer Eddie Ott is working these days as bullpen coach for the Houston Astros.
