Married-On the 17th inst., Mr. Wesley Temple, of Jordan township, to Miss Levina Reese, of Franklin township.
New skirts for 1865-6-The great invention of the age in hoop skirts.
Henry Johnson and R. Hawley, Esqs., and Major Thomas Chamberlin and Mr. B.S. Merrill were elected delegates to the Union county convention on Saturday last. A good strong delegation.

Frank L. Foote has purchased from Robert Wertman the restaurant next to the Crawford House on Main street.
Mrs. Clark Bowen was rendered unconscious and stricken temporarily blind late Sunday night wen struck by a bolt of lightning.
Engagement announced of Margaret Craig to Charles Franklin Cole.
Miss Margaret Love has resigned her position as teacher of the sixth grade in the public school.
Died: J. Hammond Ritter, Pittsburgh, Aug. 7, aged 48 years; John B. Downing died at his home at Geona,Ills., Aug. 10th, aged 67 years; Mrs. Albert Hendershot, aged 74, died at her home on Mahoning street Thursday evening.

Presbyterian Church of Muncy announced this week of the purchase of the Marvin Myers property at 108 East Penn Street.
David Meserole, a 1965 graduate of Lycoming college, left Sunday for Lackland AFB, Tex., to begin a course of pilot training in the U.S. Air Force.
CWO Robert Kiess has departed for Viet Nam with the First Cavalry Division, according to word brought to Muncy by his wife over the weekend.
Engagement announced of Miss Laura Mitchell, of Wayne, N.J., to Fred Preuss, of Muncy.
Miss Hilda Farley was married to Robert B. Sampsell on Aug. 6
Miss Alice Mae Worthington, Unityville, and Francis Lee Johnson, of Millville, were married Aug. 6.

The local Intermediate baseball of Picture Rocks held their picnic at the part followed by a game between the fathers and sons. The fathers were the winners, 5-4.
Deaths: George Houseknecht, 46, MHS Teacher since 1946, died suddenly on Aug. 16; Mrs. Catherine J. Kennedy, on of Muncy’s nonagenarians and mother of James J. Kennedy, died Aug. 18; Minnie Hitesman, 88, Montgomery, died Aug. 15; Ruth Banghart, Montgomery, 55, died suddenly at her home on Monday morning.

A check presentation was held on July 11 on the steps of the new portico of the Muncy Valley Hospital which will be officially dedicated to J.A. Webb, Inc., in the near future.
Mr. and Mrs. David Wallis announce the marriage of their daughter, Shelli, to Phillip Bellow Short of Dahlgren, VA. The wedding took place on June 16, 1990, in the Rose Garden of the President’s home at Mary Washington College, Fredericksburg, VA.
The Barto girls of Montgomery were named champion and reserve champion at the Lycoming County Fair Stickhorse show on July 18 in the Pee Week division.
The Grumman Crew served breakfast last Sunday morning at the Montgomery Boat Club.
The 10 and under girls team of the Muncy Swim Team took first place in both 100 medley and 100 freestyle relay in each meet and also set a Muncy pool record of 1:12:57.
