Thomas Smith, of Williamsport, has purchased the offices of the old Lycoming Gazette, (the publication of which was suspended last week) and the West Branch Democrat, the publication of which was discontinue two weeks ago, and that of the Gazette resumed, under the direction and control of Charles T. Houston & Co.
A living frog was found in a bed of hard blue clay, 23 feet below the surface of the ground, in Leciester, Mass., last week.
Two railroad accidents occurred on the P. and E. railroad on Saturday last, one at Watsontown and the other three miles below Willamsport.
Married-On the 1st inst., at the house of John Shuler, by Rev. H. Castles, George Ball, of Hughesville, and Miss Rosetta Gilbert, of Sullivan County.

Dr. Michael Stech died suddenly at Ophequan, Va., on Tuesday.
Married-At Bradford on Tuesday, H.A.Renn and Mrs. Fiske, daughter of Judge Craig.
The Republican parade at Williamsport last Thursday nigh was one of the finest political demonstrations ever held in the county. About 250 went up from Muncy, headed by the Muncy Cornet band, and a large drum corps. Twenty-four hundred men were in line with torches, banners, mottos, etc.

Pickpockets made a rich haul during the Milton fair, it was declared. Samuel D. Robbins, of Pottsgrove lost $350 while other smaller amounts were reported. Three suspects were arrested, but released.
Miss Marion Painter left this morning for Greeley, Colo., where she will be married to Mr. Paul Biddle Van Dine of Montana.
Died: Joshua W. Alder, near Muncy; Evan P. Starr, Lycoming County, 75, died Sunday morning; J.R. Stead, 80, Muncy; Savilla Fry, died at her home in Penn Twp. on Thursday, aged 87 years.
