Thanksgiving day was generally observed in this borough.
The store of NcKelvy, Neal & Co., at Bloomsburg, was entered by thieves and a large amount of goods stolen.
Donations were held at both the Presbyterian manse and St. James’ rectory.
This edition was taken up almost entirely with President Johnson’s message to Congress.

John D. Musser Post Named committees to take charge of the fair to be held from the 20th to the 25th.
A fracas occurred last Tuesday between John McGuire and John Hart, Jr., two employees of the Proctorville tannery, which almost ended in murder.
A .J. Lind, who acted for several years as leader of the Citizens’ Cornet band, has moved to Laporte.
Married-At the residence of the bride’s parents in Moreland township, Nov. 18th, by Rev. H. C. Munro, S. B. Derr and Miss Cora Crawford.

The Cold Water Hunting club, whose headquarters are on Gray’s run, report a 350-pound bear killed by one of the members.
The many Muncy friends of Mrs. Malinda Kirk, of Watsontown, and formerly of this place, will regret to learn that she was stricken with paralysis while seated at a table at the supper serviced by the Reformed congregation at that place Saturday evening.
A pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Petrikin, Tuesday afternoon, when Frances Hollingsworth, was united in marriage to Mr. Charles Deown Mower.
A wedding took place at Mrs. Elizabeth McCarty, in Muncy Creek township, Tuesday evening when her daughter, Hazel, was married to Mr. Philip Opp of near Clarkstown.
Isaac Artley and daughter, Miss Katharine Artley, of Pennsdale, have gone to Mt. Hope, Kansas, where they expect to spend the winter visiting relatives.
Died: Thomas C. Opp, one of Muncy’s prominent business men, died Friday morning after an illness of about three weeks, aged 598 years, 3 months and 17 days; Mrs. Mary Bridinger, died at the family home near Clarkstown, Tuesday, aged about 35 years.
