The old Washington hotel at this place, which has been closed for some time, will be reopened, the property having been purchased by Mrs. Coder and so.
Dr. Albright, John Courson, Joseph Eves, George Doctor , Jr., G. D. Keller and J.P. Bulick left on a visit to Virginia Friday night.
Efforts are being made to erect a monument in the cemetery in honor of the soldier boys who lost their lives in the war.
Andrew F. Everly and Reuben Baker, of Washington township, were arrested Tuesday of last week, the former being charged with setting fire to his own house and the latter with setting fire to the barns of Wm. Plumer and Peter Shady, in October last.
Married-On Thursday evening at the residence of the bride, in this borough by Rev. D. Castleman, William B. Smith and Mrs. Maggie A. Harman.

An old-fashioned quilting party was held at the residence of Mrs. F.H. Petrikin.
P.S. Beeber, of Mason City, Iowa, is visiting his father, Thos. J. Downing.
A shooting match will be held at Ritter’s hotel, Lairdsville, on Christmas day.
Cousin Henry Harris gave one of his famous suppers to his many Muncy gentlemen friends before he moved to New York.
Died-John J. Love was buried in the MUncy cemetery on Thursday, Dec. 9th, just 22 years from the date of his marriage.
Miss Charlotte Merrill died at the residence of her father, Benjamin S. Merrill, on Saturday morning.

De La Lloyd, of Lloyd Brothers’ garage had a thrilling ride Sunday afternoon, when he was hauling into town an auto that was stranded in the Muncy hills on the main Milton road. While coming down mile hill the driver in the stranded car found that his brakes would not work and before he could give warning the machine crashed in the car ahead, breaking the windshield of the rear car.
Married-A pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Ms. G. Grannis, Pond Top farm, Muncy , when Miss Clara May Martin and Scranton Nickles were united in marriage.
A nervy horse thief operated in Williamsport on SAturday and Dr. Harry J . Little was minus a valuable animal and perfectly good buggy for a short time.
Died: Frances Hart Corner, aged 31, entered into rest at the home of her parents, Rev. William P. and Jennie Montgomery Painter Friday morning; John Rowe Brungard died at his home in this borough Tuesday morning, aged 32 years; Boyd Bennett, one of the best known residents in this part of the county, died at his home on Peter Frantz farm, near Clarkstown, on Friday afternoon, He was 56 years of age.

Two parties for area children are slated within the next week. On Dec. 18, Local 516, United Furniture Workers of America, will entertain all children of the Muncy school district at Ritz Theatre, with a movie and free gifts. Then on Dec. 22 right after the final day of school before Christmas vacation, all Muncy school district children are invited to a party at Ritz Theatre under auspices of Muncy Rotary Club.
The tennis courts at the Muncy Elementary School have been “plugged” and are ready for ice skating when cold weather arrives.
Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Kepner, Hughesville, observed their golden wedding anniversary on Dec. 15.
Larry Lowe has enlisted in the Air Force and is taking his basic training at Lackland Air Force Base.
