Those towns who have not rebuilt their bridges that were carried away by the flood, are experiencing considerable difficulty with their ferries.

Died-In this borough on Tuesday morning last, Col. John P. Schuyler, in the 80th year of his age.

135 years ago

This has been the gayest week Muncy has known for a long time and the town is thronged with visitors.

A fair and festival of Col. John D. Musser Post, No. 66, G.A.R., was fairly inaugurated Monday evening in Clapp and Smith’s building on Water street.

George Glder, of Muncy Creek township, returned Friday from a hunting trip on the North Mountain, near the headwaters of Fishing creek, bring three fine deer with him.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis B. Sprout celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Saturday evening of last week, a reception being held at their home.

Thursday, Dec. 23, 1915

100 years ago

Miss Mary Fountain Sebring and Frank H. Painter, son of George Painter, of this place, were married on Saturday evening.

John P. Brewer, formerly of this place, and of the firm of Brewer Bros., whose shop is located near the City hall, Williamsport, fell while running to catch a train at Dewart and cracked the large bone of the right leg just above the ankle.

Miss Edith M. Reed, of Lairdsville, and Valentine Kepner, of Penn township, were united in marriage on Wednesday evening last week.

Died: Mrs. Catharine A. Green died at her home in East Muncy last Friday night, aged 80 years and 9 months; Julia A. Yocum died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jesse McCarty, south of town, on Tuesday morning aged 71 years; Charles B. Clingeman, of Muncy, died Monday afternoon, aged 73 years.

Miss Peggy Campbell elected as Muncy’s DAR Good Citizenship Award winner.

Karen Nelson, three-year old daughter of Mr. and MRs. David Nelson, Picture Rocks, fractured her leg in a recent fall.

Mrs. Benjamin Bryan is leaving this week for Ohio, where she will spend several months with her son-in-law and daughter.
