A musical convention was held in Hughesville on Tuesday.
A railroad meeting was held in Williamsport Thursday evening in the interest of making a connection between the Philadelphia and Reading railroad and the Atlantic and Great Western railroad at Port Clint, and to be built up the West Branch of the Susquehanna.
A new invention has just been put on the market. The article being the duplex elliptic or double spring skirt. These are superior to the single spring now being worn by the ladies.

Uncle John McCarty can remember when there were only six or eight houses in Muncy.
J.M.M. Gernerd is pleasantly settled on his place on Shuttle hill, and maintains that it is warmer than down in the valley.
Married-On the 10th inst. John G. Gohrs and Miss Phebe C. Hill, both of Muncy.

Mrs. Harry Robb, while walking with her husband at Mingo Farm on Sunday afternoon, slipped on the ice and fell, breaking her ankle.
Harry W. Gower and Naomi B. Spring, both of Lairdsville, married at noon; J. Randall McCarty, Unityville, and Miss Ella McGranaghan, Eagles Mere, were married on Jan. 6.
Died: Sarah Jane Hawley, died Monday morning, aged 83 years; William F. Mecum, the veteran blacksmith, aged 81 years, died at his home, Picture Rocks, Friday morning.
