Died-IN this borough, on the 3d inst., Hannah Jane Converse, aged 26 years.

Married-AT the residence of the bride’s father, in Muncy Creek township, Tuesday, Nov. 7, John Spangler and Miss Maggie Harris.

L. K. Poust, John Farley, Thos. Grange, and W. Harman were among the jurors drawn for the November term of court.

The second quarter of Muncy Seminary commences on Nov. 16.

Very little local news in this issue, outside of political.

Married-October 29, Jacob Stead, of Lewis township, Northumberland Co., and Miss Maggie Snyder, of Muncy.

Died- In this borough, on Nov. 2, Mrs. Maria M. Bruner, wife of Hon. Isaac Bruner, aged 49 years.

Ed Stokes has put on a new omnibus on his line to the P. & R. depot.

Mine Host D.W. Yothers of the Muncy Valley House gave a dinner to number of gentlemen friends on election day.

Horace Gold is in charge of the school at Clarkstown.

Mrs. Elizabeth Bonine Died Saturday-Aged 96 Years-Was Muncy’s Oldest Resident

Captain Wallace L. Clay, U.S. A., inventor of a bullet that will plow through three quarters of an inch of steel to reach its human target, has contributed to modern warfare a projectile that nullifies many of the defensive armaments evolved in the European war. Captain Clay is 28 years old. He married Miss Margaret Noble, of this place, several years ago.

Miss Jenny Fry won second prize at the masquerade at Hughesville last Friday evening.

James Cover spent several days last week with his wife who is a patient in the Sunbury hospital.

Homer Edwards, who was hunting at Slate Run last week, returned Friday with a nice string of pheasants.

Visitor in town last week one day was Ed Musial, youngish good-looking brother of the fabulous baseball star, Stan Musical…Ed is with a sport goods firm owned by Stan, who owns lots of things, and seems to revel in the limelight mere mention of his name.

Eric (Ricky) Shoemaker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Shoemaker and brother of Doug Shoemaker, who is writing some fine articles on Ethiopia for The Luminary, has been promoted to specialist fourth class in the army.

Army Specialist Fourth Class Reed F. Middlesworth, 22, of Montgomery arrived in Viet Nam Oct. 21 with with his unit, Conpany C, 459th Signal Battalion.

Engagement announced of Miss Bernice Geraldine Smith, of Montgomery, to Delmer George Hamilton, of Hughesville.

Died: Anna Lowery Purpuri, former Muncy druggist, Nov. 6; Harvey F. Confer, Picture Rocks native, Nov. 7.
