Harry, six-year old son of A.J. Sanders, was found drowned by his father in the Muncy basin on Sunday evening after having been missed from home Saturday afternoon.
Died-In Williamsport on the 7th inst., Mrs. Catharine Shopbell, formerly of Muncy, aged 75 years.
Stephen Shoemaker and C.W. Robb, Esq., fished the Loyalsock clean of trout last week. In consequence of so much “brain food” Stephen became somewhat ill.
Chas. A. Bowers, Esq. has repaired and repainted and otherwise improved his residence on Water street.

Died-In this borough on Monday, Aug. 3, Hugh Montgomery, M.D., in the 82nd ear of his age; in East Muncy, July 30, Mrs. Elizabeth U. Robb, in the 54th year of her age; In Muncy Creek township, Aug. 1st, Mrs. William Doctor, aged 52 years.
Las Friday afternoon at Mohr’s park a splendid game of base ball was played between the Muncy team and Wilkes-Barre, resulting in a victory of the latter.
Ray App, son of H.H. Ap, was run over on South Main street, last Thursday evening, but not seriously injured.
Married-William A. Petrikin, of Philadelphia, and Miss Lizzie Lloyd, of Williamsport.
Prof D.L. Hoover has opened a private school at the Lairdsville school house.

Stock Burned In Fire; Man Was severely Hurt-Barn on Hoffman Farm Near Town Struck by Lightning Monday Afternoon
Son of Elmer Clark, on bicycle, run over by a big auto truck-Accident happened at busy Main and Water Street corner Saturday afternoon.
The Boys’ Athletic Club is planning a hiking trip of more than ordinary length and interest. It is the plan of the club to walk to Willamsport on Saturday morning, leaving here about six o’clock in the morning.
This vicinity was visited Wednesday evening by one of the hardest storms in years. Thousands of dollars worth of damage was done by the torrential rains and was also increased by fires caused by lighting; at Hughesville the Methodist church was struck by lightning and badly damaged. The PA railroad was blocked for many hours by a land slide near Sylvan Dell.
J.B. Dugan, of Mawr Glen, is raising he county’s champion turnips. Many of the vegetables measure fifteen inches around one way and sixteen inches the other way, He say the secret is placing the turnip seed in phosphate when planting.

Jennifer Hollingsworth, MHS senior, returned to Muncy after spending a week at the PSU Summer Music Camp.
Lynda Kowoaka of California, married Larry Duke Breidinger, formerly of Muncy, June 14.
Neighbors on the 300 block of South Market Street once again observed National Night Out sponsored by the Muncy Crime Watch Assoc. Fannie McKee was hostess for a picnic.
The Little Mountaineer/Montgomery 11-12 year old major softball league won the Section 2 and the District 12 championship.
A new rescue boat has been obtained by the Montgomery Emergency Management Agency.
Two area students who received scholarships from the College Foundation of Pennsylvania College of Technology are Tracy Moon, of Picture Rocks, and Denise Otterbein, of Muncy.
