A very serious collision occurred on the PHiladelphia and Erie railroad, about three-fourths of a mile west of the Muncy Station, Saturday morning last, a few minutes before 8 o’clock, between the mail train going north and a heavy freight train moving in the opposite direction. William Attig, engineer of the mail train, and J.A. Steinman, express messenger, were killed, and their bodies burned in the debris, which took fire from a wrecked car of oil. None of the passengers were injured.
