Married-Sept. 4, William Rupert and Miss Mary E. Zarr, both of Muncy Creek township.
The residence of J. Philip Opp, in Muncy Creek township, was destroyed by fire last Friday afternoon with all its contents.
Street Commissioner Eshbach is doing a neat job in filling up the street and dressing up the gutters on Shuttle Hill.
John T. Leinbach has leased the Rooker property on Main street and will soon open up with a stock of groceries, varieties, etc.
Potatoes are selling for 25 cents per bushel and eggs 14 cents a doz.

There was quite a snowstorm at Eagles Mere Wednesday.
Married-On Sept. 16, George H. Mendenhall to Miss Mary G. Swartz, both of Pennsville (Pennsdale); On. Sept. 17, Franklin Murray, of Muncy Creek township, to Miss Jennett Idella Dewalt, of Washingtonville.
Died: In Muncy Creek township, Sept. 21, Lydia A. Holler, aged 74 years; In this borough, Sept. 22, H.C. Crawford, aged 40 years.

relatives of David S. Ball, of Opps, this county, are seeing information as to his whereabout. Hall left Opps on July 30 to visit his son, Roy W. Ball, at Waterloo, near Geneva, New York. Since that time relatives have been unable to obtain any trace of him.
Four were killed when fast train hits a Ford car-Horrible Accident on Pennsylvania Tracks Near Milton Fair Grounds Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Miles Derr and daughter, Martha, aged 6 years, and Mrs. Derr’s sister, Miss Jennie Leiser, were ground to pieces, and Mr. Derr and daughter, Ada, aged 17, were probably fatally injured Sunday afternoon when the Ford motor car in which they were riding was struck at the fair grounds crossing at Milton, by the Pennsylvania passenger train which left Williamsport at 3:55 o’clock.
Died: Mrs. Faires, of Roaring Branch, died suddenly on Saturday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Mary Albright; John Shaffer, one of the best known residents of this section, died at his home on the Bartlett farm, in Muncy Creek township, Monday morning; Mrs. Mary Mahala Brungard died at her home on West Penn Street Sunday afternoon

Muncy native, Clyde R. Peeling, has begun an eight-month lecture tour of the Northwestern United States, speaking on “Reptiles of the World”.
Investigation continues of Jerry Sones, Muncy airman, whose badly beaten body was found Sept. 10, in a shallow grave on a lonely road near Mojave, Calif.
William Peterman of Muncy bought the remaining 75 acres of the Fred Phillips farmland along the river just west of Muncy.
