Married-In Muncy, on the 19th ult., Leander J. Myer, of Cogan Station, to Miss Annie E. Trumbower.
Fry & Brewer, manufacturers of heavy and light lumber wagons, ran out two very fine two-horse wagons on Tuesday.
The steam saw mll of D. Clapp & Co. is shut down for the want of logs.
The Keystone Hook and Ladder company paraded with torches Friday evening. The Muncy Cornet and led the procession and Capt. Stokes was commander in chief.
Miss Laura Brass, who appeared before Muncy audiences, as a reader, will open a school of elocution in the new school building next week.

Married-Sept. 29 W.F. Schoch, of Lewisburg (formerly of Muncy), to Miss Annie Bridge, of Center county; Sept. 30 L.D. West, of Picture Rocks, to Miss Mary Merrill, of Moreland.
The East Muncy schools opened on Monday. The teachers are John A. Heberling and Miss Fannie McMichael.
About 9:30 last Sunday morning a wood fire which was started in the livery barn of Thomas J. Narber, set fire to the structure, and destroyed it.

LaRue Gorter, of this place, a former baker for William H. Banzhaf, is now in training for the National ARmy at Camp Meade, and in letters home he relates ma y amusing incidents connected with camp life. Several days ago he wrote that he just finished baking thirty dozen pies-kind not stated-an that the 360 luscious pieces of pastry lasted but a few minutes among the scores of hungry men that mess in his division.
Battery D, now at Camp Hancock, Augusta, Ga., which includes in its membership a number of Muncy men, have a little time during the day to engage in recreation. Bugle Call Men from Cots At 5:45 a.m. -Taps Sounded at 10:15 P.M.-Six Hours Drill
Brady Snyder, for the past five years parcel post carrier and substitute at the Muncy post-office and who was drawn in the draft and sent to Camp Meade on Saturday, we the recipient of two fine testimonials form fellow employees on Friday. The clerks and Postmaster Wood presented him with a safety razor outfit.
A quiet wedding took place yesterday afternoon when Anna Kessler Painter, of Germantown, was united in marriage to George L. Painter of this place.
Marriage announced of Marion Ann, to Kenneth R. Bubb, formerly of this place, on June 16, 2017.
Craig M. Kift, of Muncy, and Miss Anna Vida Sayre, of Pennsdale, were married Oct. 10.
The wedding of Miss Virginia Maslin and LIeutenant William Lynch Gibon, U.S.A., occurred Sept. 27.
Died: Charles Edwin Grange, 79, Muncy, died Thursday; Thomas McComb died Monday afternoon, aged 88.

The Hughesville Volunteer Firemen celebrated their 100th anniversary with many activities including a parade Saturday morning.
The Montgomery Ministerium’s peanut festival and parade was held.
