The Royal Arcanum, the new secret insurance order, was organized here last Tuesday evening. The charter members are W.A.Flack, John Waldron, D.B. Dykins, H.N. Laird, H.D. Sheridan, G.L. Painter, T.B. Painter, Dr. G.G. Wood, W. J. Wood, A.H. Gudykunst, Boyd Walbridge, W.J. McCarty, W.B. Harris, Ira J. Parker, John Leinbach, Charles Sprout, J.W. Rissel, Edwin Schuyler, Samuel Rogers, W.E. Mohr, Hammond Michael.

The rink ball was well attended last Saturday evening. The music was furnished by the Hughesville band.

The Knights of Labor, which has about forty members here, has rented a large room on the third floor of Thos. Lloyd’s residence on South Main street for a hall.

The big auditorium to the Parker House is being rushed to completion.

Married-At the residence of the bride’s father on Nov. 12, T. Bridgens Painter, of Muncy, and Miss Sue L. Petrick, of Montoursville.

Muncy has escaped the Salvation Army as they failed to rent a room here.

Scores of Muncy people have been in Williamsport this week attending the Moody meetings.

Quite a little building is being done in Muncy this fall. Fred M. Sprout is erecting six bungalows on South Sherman street and three on West Penn street.

Miss Marion VanDine, Hughesville, is the guest of her sister, who is confined to the house of illness.

The following young men from this vicinity have been reported to the local board of district No. 2, by the district board as being called for service in the United States Army and are not exempted or discharged: Charles Fague Dimm, Muncy; Frederick Lee Gouldner, Muncy; Walter James Shipman, Pennsdale; Oliver Clarence Stine, Muncy; Aaron Edmund Murray, Muncy; Harry B. Dye, Muncy; Clyde James Ault, Montoursville; Otto Lafayette Montgomery, Picture Rocks; John G. Bailey, Muncy; Jonathan Terry Doan, Tivoli.

Died: Pemberton Eves, on of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of this place, after a short illness, died Wednesday evening of last week at the advanced age of 87 years.

First Lieutenant Alfred E. Hall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hall, Hughesville, has received the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal at Fuchu Air Station, Japan.

The first public holiday dance to be sponsored by Muncy Rotary club for the young people of the area will be held Thanksgiving night, Nov. 23, in the all-purpose from of the Muncy Elementary school.
