The store of M.S. Rissell, on Main street, was robbed Wednesday evening of tobacco, cigars, gloves, hosiery, boot and shoes, etc., valued at between $200 and $300.

The residence of Re. S.T. Thompson, pastor of the Presbyterian church, on Washington St., was entered by burglars on Sunday night, as well as the St. James’ rectory, adjoining property. Mr. Thompson’s fine gold watch and $1.25 in change was secured.

On the first of the month telegraph office was removed from Painter’s drug store down to the Rissel building on North Main St., where it will be hereafter. Thomas G. Swenk succeeds Judge Painter, who recently resigned as operator.

Philip Snyder & Son, of Lairdsville, have made over 1200 barrels of cider at their press this fall and they are not quite done yet.

The Clarkstown band received their horns recently and has developed into a first class organization.

Curtis Ritter, of Muncy, has been certified to the local board of District No. 2 by the local board of Orange, N.J., as called for service and not exempted or discharged. The Scranton board has certified Chester Nelson Smith, of Muncy R.D.4 for service.

During the past week a number of auto drivers have been taken before Squire Buffington by the state constabulary located here and fined for exceeding the speed limit in the borough and for not having their rear lights on their machines lighted.

Amos Smith, a well known resident of this place had his leg broken and Frank Bartlow, also of a resident of Muncy, was severely burned and cut, as a result of an auto accident near Antes Fort, Saturday morning.

Died: Mrs. Christian Worthington died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Miler, Tuesday morning at 6 o’clock, aged 83 years; Mrs. Matilda Snyder, whose death occurred at her home near Clarkstown on Monday at the age of 64 years; Hiram Zarr, Muncy Creek township, whose death occurred this past week, was buried on Nov. 28.

Two Muncy Valley women, Miss Susan Fiester and Miss Constance Frazier, are among the six 4-H club members from Pennsylvania named as national award winners at the 46th annual 4-H Club Congress in Chicago this week.

Jake T. Akers, Local Merchant, died suddenly Tuesday, Nov. 28, in the service station where he had worked seven days a week, 52 weeks a year since the late 1920’s.

Miss Judith Ann Ritter repeated nuptial vows with Richard Schenck on Nov. 25.

Carol Lee Wingfield, Huntersville, became the bride of Raymond H. Bower, of South Williamsport, on Nov. 25.

Miss Nancy Moyer, Clarkstown, married on Nov. 18 to Mr. John McMillen.

Private Carl W. Fry, 19, of Montgomery, has completed nine weeks of advanced infantry training at Ft. Polk, La.

Birth: A son to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mosteller, of South Williamsport, Mother former Gail Montgomery, of Hughesville.

Members of the Montgomery Lions Club filled a grocery car with Frozen turkeys which will be prepared for their Fourth Annual Thanksgiving Dinner at the Lions Hall.

Ten-year old Kelly Harris, a victim of Lyme Disease, received a check for over $4,000 to help with the cost of her rehabilitation. Kelly is the daughter of Mark and Debbie Harris of Huntersville.

Grace Thomas, president of Son Light House, in Muncy, accepts a truck load of food collected by the Student Council of Muncy High School.

Jeanne’s Flowers in Montgomery hosted a Holiday Open House on Nov. 21.
