It affords us pleasure to announce that our young friend and townsman, J. Artley Beiber, son of Mr. T.D. Beiber, was admitted to practice law, in the several courts of this County, on Tuesday last.
We learn that a slate quarry is about to be opened on the old Shane property, a short distance below the out-let locks, in Muncy Creek township, by D. Ellenberger, of this place, who has leased the property.
Married on the 20th ist., in this Borough, by Rev. George O. Drake, Porter Burkholder and Miss Caroline Lanks, both of Hughesville.

Funeral services for Jean Louise Eaker, 16, who died at her home in Williamsport on Sunday afternoon at the Wallis Funeral Home in Muncy.
Radio reports of cablegrams from Lt. “Tommy ” Harmon, who has now been found after having been reported “missing in action”, indicate that the famous football player, now in Uncle Sam’s service, cracked up somewhere near the “stamping ground of our townsman, Capt. Ben Renn.

Opp-Hurley Temple of Muncy R.D. 1 was called to the home of Arch Temple on Muncy R.D. 4 on account of the illness of his father, George Temple.

Miss Lila Crawley and Mrs. John Rathmell have submitted their resignations at Muncy High School.
Ricky Shoemaker, serving with the army in Viet Nam, sends a note of thanks for the free Luminary he is receiving while there.
Larry Lauchle, the most successful wrestler in Muncy high school history, has been named to the newly created position of freshman wrestling coach at University of Pennsylvania.
Debbie Dunn took top honors among Muncy swimmers entered in the state YWCA swim championship at York when she place third in the 50-yard breast stroke with a time of :36.98 in the 12 and under classification.

Augustus (Augie) Belmont, Muncy senior citizen, was recently honored in Harrisburg for his 15 years of service with Meals on Wheels. Belmont holds the record for length of service in Lycoming County and serves at the Muncy Senior Center.
Gary L. Dunlap of Muncy, has successfully completed the uniform certified public account examination.
Navy Petty Officer First Class David L. Williams, son of Beverly J. Williams of Hughesville recently departed Norfolk, Va., on the way to change homeports from Holy Lock, Scotland, to La Maddalena, Italy.
