Sixty graduate from Muncy-Muncy Creek School; Seventy-one graduate from Junior High.

Betty Hagerman, South Market Street, weds Pvt. James Hitesman, of South Main Street.

John Depper and Donald V. Bull both of Hughesville were deprived of their gasoline ration books at the Wednesday evening hearing of the War Price Rationing Board, No. 26412, at Montgomery. Depper had his basic and supplementary coupons taken away for three months for driving unnecessarily. Bull’s basic and supplementary coupons were taken for a period of six months because he deliberately violated the pleasure driving ban.

On June 4th, Miss Pearl Ritter, Muncy, became the bride of Mr. Luther S. Heydenreich of Turbotville.

On June 8 Miss Betty J. Carpenter, Muncy became the bride of Sgt. Byron M. Dugan, Muncy.

Birth: A daughter was born to Lt. and Mrs. Charles O. Yeagle of Lubock, Tex., Monday, June 7.

Hughesville-Miss Viola Wishard, and S 2/c Grover W. Hayne were united in marriage June 1.

Thomas DeWald, Muncy, and John Werner, Picture Rocks, have returned from the four-day 15th Constitution Convention of the United Furniture Workers of America in Memphis.

In beautiful sunshine just before a heavy rainstorm hit the area, the Memorial Day parade in Muncy unfolded before a large crowd which line the streets.

His long years of service as advisor to the Class of 1968 at MHS reaped a surprise reward last week for Bob Winn, of the school’s business education department. Much to his astonishment, the class presented him with full set of golf clubs, and golf cart during the class day festivities, and shortly afterward he learned that the class had dedicated the 1968 Canusarago (yearbook) to him.

Kay Plotts, Muncy, and William T. Simpson, NY, married June 1.

Engagement announced of Miss Catherine Jane Schenck to Michael Lenwood Myers, both of Muncy.

When Thomas Secules delivered the valedictory at the Class of 1968 commencement program, June 4, in the Hughesville high school auditorium, it marked the second year in succession that the top honor student was in the family of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Secules.

A petition with the 14 signatures of Muncy residents living on Broadway was received at the Muncy Borough meeting held May 4. The residents are petitioning to have Broadway widened and curbed. Currently there is not curbing along Broadway.

Members of the Muncy Lions Club work diligently to renovate the pavilion which was damaged during storm last summer. The pavilion is located at the Lions Park, formerly Jaycee Park in Muncy.

Luminary sportswriter, Tom Ritter, presented Mike Gaydon and Christina Steinbacher, two Muncy basketball players, special awards at the All Sports Banquet. Receiving plaques for breaking the 1,000 point plateau was junior Jamie DeJesus and Mike Gaydon.

The Kiwanis Club of Muncy recently initiated four new members Barry Murray, John Ritter, and Dr. Larry Leggieri, and Tom Breneisen.

A sixth-grade National Language Arts Olympiad was held recently at the Myers elementary school. Winners included Elissa Eck, Tracy Mosher, Ian Gray, Carolyn Johnson, Jennifer Miller, Seth Bower, Patty Hatches, Phillip Trostle, and Tom McClure.

The Kiwanis contributed toward the current renovations and expansion of the playground are project at Ward L. Myers.

Died: Viola S. Phillips, 85 formerly of Muncy Valley, May 7.
