Aaron Rothfuss of North Market street was struck by a car Friday evening in front of the Crawford Hotel. Mr. Rothfuss was stunned but not seriously injured, suffering only few bruises.

Eighty-eight men will leave Lycoming County Draft Board No. 2 Montgomery, on November 18 for examination at Harrisburg. Charles W. Winters of Montgomery will be the leader, Jack W. Banghart of Muncy, and Forrest E. Metzger of South Williamsport, Assistant Leaders.

The Muncy Indians suffered another defeat last Saturday when they played Canton on the home field, Canton winning the game with the score of 7-0.

Miss Miriam Yagel, Muncy, became the bride of Ensign Claude J. Miller, of Montgomery, Nov. 6.

Word has been received here of the death, as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning Friday afternoon of Mrs. Clarence Funk, of Homestead daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry P. Dugan of Muncy, R.D. 4.

Miss Mary Ellen Hess, of Sherman street, Muncy, became the bride of Pvt. George Montgomery at an informal ceremony performed Nov. 3rd.

Mr. and MRs. A.H.Boatman of Sonestown announce the engagement of their daughter, Marie Ellen, to Joseph H. Eichenlaub, of Muncy.

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Tallman, of Montgomery, called on Clarkstown friends last Monday night.

Misses Evelyn and Pearl McClain of Picture Rocks spent the weekend with their sister Mrs. Thomas Springman and Mr. Springman.

Followers of the Montgomery high school band, particularly in its performances on the Muncy football field at the Raider “home” games, have been watching a state champion baton twirler perform in the person of nimble Donna Davis.

James Baker, formerly employed at Sprout-Waldron, has enlisted in the Navy.

Wedding of Miss Connie Fahnestock, Muncy, and Raymond O’Donnell, of Williamsport, on Oct. 26.

Miss Terry Jean Vollman, of near Montgomery, and Max Elwood Bieber, of Muncy exchanged wedding vows on Oct. 26.

A large barn on the farm of Samuel Fry near Pennsdale was completely destroyed at a loss of $32, 500 about 6 p.m. Oct. 26.

Army Sergeant First Class William L. Hill, of near Montgomery, received the Army Commendation Medal at Ft. Knox, Ky., for meritorious service with the U.S. Army.

A former Muncy resident who was associated with The Luminary for 37 years-23 as owner/publisher-died at the Mission Terrace Convalescence Home in Santa Barbara, California on Oct. 29. Robert N.Wilt, remembered as “Mr. Luminary” by many local residents.

Julie M. Sipes and Donald L. Moyer, Muncy, were married Sept. 18 in Indian.

Mike Hill, fifth grade student in Mrs. Hacker’s class at Myers Elementary, won a contest at the school. Mike guessed the correct weight of the jack-o-lantern, 26 1/2 pounds.
