J.W. Alder, assistant superintendent of the Catawissa railroad, has returned from Europe
J. Scudder Shoemaker, formerly of this place, was re-elected County Clerk of Washoe county, Nevada, at the recent state election.
The residence of Mathew Fox, in East Muncy, was destroyed by fire.
A pardon has been asked for Barney McCue, now serving a life sentence for the murder of John Deeter, at Muncy Dam, a few years ago.

Clyde Shoemaker, the milk dealer, recently purchased the ice business from George Karschner, and has taken charge of the same. Mr. Shoemaker has sold his milk business to R.C. Rager, who took charge Tuesday morning.
James Eaker and son, Jennings, Elmer Op, Oliver Schreck, W.H.Dildine, G.A. Schreck, H.M. Heller, R.M. Stahlman and D.W. Brass returned Friday night from the Lone Pine hunting camp with three fine deer, the largest one being shot by James Eaker, and one bear, shot by H.M. Heller. They were on exhibition for a few days at the meat market of Robert Brase, on Main Street.
Died: Mrs. Emily, died at the home of her daughter on North Main street Monday afternoon, aged 71 years, 11 months, and 28 days; Mrs. Frank Cashner, a bride of seven weeks, died at her home at Montgomery, after an illness of a few days of pneumonia, following influenza. She was formerly Miss Carrie Mathews, of this place; Dr.William H. Painter, died at his home in Harrisburg, Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock.
Grange’s Muncy Orchestra has many holiday engagements, including the two big holiday dances at the Williamsport Country Club.
James D. Remsnyder, of this place, has been appointed a member of the state police force and is now at Butler, Pa.

Carol Edwin Brown, of Muncy, was graduated on Dec. 5 from the Army Air Forces Pilot School and was commissioned Second Lieutenant according to word received.
Funeral services were held Sunday morning at the Wallis Funeral Home for Mrs. Ida Kramer, once a jeweler of Muncy and well known here.
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Burkhart at Williamsport hospital on Dec. 1st. Mrs. Burkhart was formerly Thelma Kepner of Hughesville.
Joanne, three-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McCoy, Pennsdale, while playing with her sister before retiring, fell from the foot board of the bed, fracturing her right arm.
Sgt. Euella Hill, daughter of Mrs. Grace Hill, Pennsdale, after spending a ten-day furlough at her home here, left for Michigan where she is stationed.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tallman and son Bobby and Barbara Kilgus, of Williamsport; Mrs. Clyde Tallman and daughter Marion of Montgomery were callers on Sunday at Ransom Plotts.
Charles and Chester Webster, Huntersville, each shot an eight point buck the first week of deer season.

Presentation of Eagle Scout awards to Steven Warren and Lester Knarr III highlighted a formal Court of Honor for Muncy’s Troop 25 Boy Scouts at a tureen supper meeting Nov. 23.
Kim, the 14-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester R. Bussler, shot a ten pound wild turkey Saturday, while hunting on the farm of his grandfather, Irvin Antes near Liberty. Kim is in 9th grade in Hughesville.
Robert Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Thomas of Muncy, has completed basic training at Lackland A.F.B. Tex. He has been assigned to Lowry A.F.B., Colo.
Pfc. Stephen B. Myers, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clay M. Myers, of Hughesville, has completed a communications equipment repair course at Army Security Agency Training Center, Ft., Devens, Mass.
Private Leonards L. Morehart, 20, son of Mrs. Anna L. Kiess, of Montgomery, has been assigned to the 3rd iInfantry Division near Wildflecken, Germany, as a rifleman.
Airman First Class Scott Shoemaker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shoemaker, of near Muncy, is on duty at Bien Hoa AB, Viet Nam.

Died: Mrs. Ira R. Ande, age 63, former local resident; Nelle B. Clapp, Muncy, died late Saturday, Nov. 23, of complications following a broken hip.
