Miss Annie Fahrenbach was working in the garden recently and was rewarded by her industry by finding a German gold coin worth $2.20.
Forest fires are raging in all parts of the country and the destruction to the timber has been very great.
B.Frank and Ithamer Johnson left for Kansas last Wednesday where they expect to make their future home.
Benjamin Wilson, of Clinton township, had his collar bone broken while working in a field by a land roller passing over his body.
A.D. Foucart and H.C. Levan have purchased the right for selling Lillis patent adjustable sewing machine treadle.
James. Dykins returned from San Antonio, Brazil, last week, where he had been assisting in building a railroad in that country. In January he was unfortunate enough to break his leg. He left San Antonio Feb. 16, and lay sick at Para about five weeks.

David Renner, alias Charlie Camp, who stole a horse from William Kepner, of Penn township, ad a buggy and set of harness from C.K. Sankey, of Hughesville, two weeks ago, was arrested near Howard, Center county, on Thursday last.

One of the social events of the season was the marriage of Miss Margaret, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gortner, to Clarence Lockard, at the Lutheran church yesterday morning.
Died: James K. Boak, one of the most prominent and highly respected citizens of this end of the county, died at his home at Hughesville, last Thursday morning, aged 72.
Ad: Don’t forget the old fashioned square dance at K.G.E. hall tomorrow (Friday ) night. Proceeds go to Muncy’s fund for entertainment of returned soldiers. Good music. Tax paid admission, ladies 28 c, gentlemen 55c.

Miss Emma McManigal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.. Robert McManigal of North Market Street, has enlisted in the Waves.
Miss Elizabeth Kschinka, a junior at Dickinson Junior College, in Williamsport, has made an outstanding record at that institution. Besides wining the Alexander E. Patton Scholarship which means she achieved, together with one other girl, the highest marks in the class, Miss Kschinka has won the Metzger English Prize and the Bible Prize.
The invasion of Western Europe by the Allied Forces was announced in Muncy on D Day, Tuesday, June 6, by the Ringing of the ST. James Episcopal Church bell at 5:30 followed by the belle at the Methodist and Lutheran churches.
Sgt. Max Murray and Sgt. Amos Shipman met in Sardinia recently.
Invitations have been sent for the wedding of Miss Ruth Drick to Carl M.Snyder which will take place June 10 in Pennsdale.
Opp-Ward Gotschall, U.S. Navy, of Camp Peary, Va., is spending a ten day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Gotschall of Muncy, R.D. 1

Two teachers hired for Muncy High School-Mrs. Cecilia van Eden, of Lynchburg, Va., accepted and French-Spanish teacher; and accepted as an English instructor, Mrs. Stephen Anderson, the former Elinor Winder, of Montgomery.
The engagement announced of Miss M. Joyce Munns, Montgomery, to David A.Rupert of Muncy.
Miss Susanne Wilt has accepted a summer job with “Seventeen”-America’s tee-age magazine. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Wilt.
