J.F. Green is receiving oysters in the shell and can, at his saloon, next door to the United States Hotel.

A young man named Smith had the thumb and several of the fingers of one of his hands badly cut by a saw at one of the Saw Mills at Montgomery Station Saturday last.

A Post Office, to be call Lincoln Falls has been established on the route from this place to Eldredsville in Sullivan County, and Mr. Jonathan Rogers has been appointed Post Master.

Suit was entered in the court of Common Pleas on Friday last by Emerson Collins, Esq., to recover $240 which is claimed by the authorities of that borough for the saving of the creek bridge during the ice gorge of the spring of 1982.

The jumping bean s on exhibition at the drug store of T & A W. Painter are attracting considerable attention, b their lively antics.

We are glad to notice that with one or two exceptions the manufacturing establishments at this place are now running full time.

Big Fisherman is Pennsdale’s Jim Arthur who caught a 16-pound salmon during a three-week expedition on the Matane River in the Gaspe Peninsula.

Miss Carol Ann Hilner, of near Turbotville, was married on Aug. 2 to Kenneth Edward Crawford, of near Muncy.

Capt. James DeWire, 29, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russel A. DeWire, Hughesville, is assigned to the 4th Infantry Division in Viet Nam as an operations and training officer.

Richard D. Babcock, a1955 graduate of Hughesville high school and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Babcock, of Hughesville, is one of a team of 150 air force specialists in support of the Apollo 11 lunar landing mission.

Mr. and Mrs. Chester H. Sones, of Hughesville, announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Diane Louise Sones to C. James Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tucker Smith, Muncy.

Mrs. Mary Goodenow returned recently from a visit with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Armstrong and family in Pittsburgh. While there she attended the wedding of her granddaughter, Mis Susan Armstrong, and Clay Gallion, which took place on Aug. 2.
