Married-In this borough on Tuesday evening last Mr. Jacob Rupert to Miss Margaret Grange, both of Turbot township.

Died in this Borough, on Sunday afternoon last, Mr. John Shoemaker, aged 77 years, on the day of his death.

The best quality of Timothy seed to be had at the Grocery and Provision Store of George Stolz.

Lost-On Saturday evening September 4, between the residences of Mr. Daniel Clapp, and Mr. F.S. Peterman, in this Borough, a Garnet Ring, the Garnet being quite small.

On Thursday afternoon last as William Warner, of Muncy township, was driving a valuable young horse, along the towing path some distance below the outlet locks, the horse became frightened and jumped over the river bank and was drowned.

According to word received here recently Pvt. Ross Buck, of Muncy R.D. 4 has arrived safely in England.

Takes Part in Major Battles In Pacific-Robert Dunn M.M. 3/c Probably Holds Muncy Record.

Henry (Max) Murray, of Lafayette Street, has been promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant recently according to word received from headquarters of the Mediterranean Allied Air Forces.

T/Sgt. Robert Gohl of the Army Air Force, son of Mrs. Walter Carroll, who called at the Luminary Office shortly after his arrival here after twenty-six months in foreign service, has been awarded the Presidential Citation for his part in the low level bombing of the Polesti oil wells in Rumania while serving as a crew chief on a B-24 Liberator.

Clarkstown-Born to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rupert on Monday at the Williamsport Hospital, a son.

Buddy Snyder, so of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Snyder is report ill.

Harold Rupert is being inducted in the Army, left for New Cumberland last Friday.

Victims of the apartment complex fire which left 18 people homeless in Muncy Creek Township last Friday evening, Aug. 26, have all found temporary housing according to Pat Hipple of the Red Cross emergency services coordinator.

“Clock Doctor” Opens Business in Muncy-He is called the “clock doctor” not only because he fixes clocks, but also because he makes house calls to get them working again. James B. Rodman, master clock worker, makes no excuses.

Tractors, trucks, three cars, and miscellaneous farm machinery were all up for bids at the Muncy Chief Hybrids, Inc. at Market and High streets on Aug. 25.

Air Force Airman Sean M. Ross has graduated rom Air Force basic training. He is a 1992 graduate of Montgomery.

Air Force Airman James C. Hill has graduated from Air Force basic training. He is a 1993 graduate of Hughesville high school; Marine Lance Cpl. Todd C. Myers, of Muncy, recently participated in two week so active duty training for reservists. He is a 1990 graduate of Muncy high school..

Mark Temons of Williamsport, a science teacher at Muncy High School, has been selected for inclusion in “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, 1994.

James Wagner of Muncy has spent his summer interning at E.D.S. Wagner, a senior at Susquehanna University is a Spanish major.
