On Friday, Sept. 15th, Dr. W.R. Petrie will leave for a big game hunting trip in Wyoming and Montana. He will be accompanied on the trip by Stanley Harris, of Athens, Pa.,, and will travel by automobile.

Speed and thrills will mark the closing feature of the annual Lycoming County Fair at Hughesville, next Saturday afternoon when more than a score of dare devil dirt track drivers take over the fairgrounds oval for a program of sensation auto races.

Birth: Hughesville Coach Randy Wagner and Mrs. Wagner on the birth of a son, who arrived Friday at the Muncy Valley hospital.Coach Larry Umstead’s third Muncy high school football team begins its 1949 competition on Saturday when the Indians travel to Athens to open the season with a non-league opponent.
