“Get Out the Vote” caravan which is touring Pennsylvania in an effort to get more voters, especially women, to turn out on election day to cast their vote, a little after noon on Tuesday.

Under the supervision of Kenneth L.Martin, of the Department of Labor and Industry and Joseph Taylor and John Anderson, of the Keystone Hook and Ladder company, fire drills were conducted in the Muncy school and several factories on Wednesday, as part of the Fire Prevention Week Program. The school building, with 882 occupants was emptied in an orderly manner, in one minute and 15 seconds.

The Hughesville athletic association, meeting last Friday, purchased a plot of ground adjoining Bodines Park in the borough and it plans to build a baseball field there for next year’s baseball season.
The Roland Ritter post, American Legion, Monday night at regular meeting agreed to a contribution of $2,500 for the Muncy Valley hospital campaign fund proposed by the trustees of the Legion Club.
Preparation for Halloween celebrations in Muncy and Montgomery were underway this week with announcement of a huge block party to be held in Muncy and a gala mummer’s parade for Montgomery.
School Notes-12th Grade-Looking in on the 12 grade this term, we see a very familiar face of a boy who quit school in his senior year to serve in the service. Now he is back in high school working hard for his diploma. This boy is Frank Derr. He served two years and 10 months in theAir Force, most of which was spent at Boling Field in Washington, D.C. Unable to play sports, he said he would give anything to play again for Muncy high school.
