J.I. Painter, agent of the Catawissa railroad company at this place informs us that since the opening of the extension on November 20th, he has sold 1,305 tickets to Williamsport.
A Farmers Club has been formed in Buffalo township, Union county.
Alex B. Jack, of Danville will deliver a lecture at Smith’s hall, on Tuesday evening his subject being, “The Influence of Robert Burns.”

A leap year party was given at the residence of Hon. Henry Johnson, on North Main street.
The thermometer stood at 60 degrees on Wednesday. It was as warm and balmy as a spring day.
A smokehouse on the J.R. Barr property was destroyed by fire on Monday.
Rev. E.H. Leisenring slipped and fell while going down his back porch steps, on Friday afternoon, striking his shoulder and otherwise bruising himself severely.

Died: Mrs. John Smith died at her home at Elgin, Ills., on Saturday last, aged 28 years. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Keefer and was well known and highly respected by many Muncy people; Lamont Lloyd, Philadelphia, formerly of this place, died on Friday morning.

With Muncians basking in summer weather on Tuesday and Wednesday as the thermometer climbed to the 60’s, it was noted that some parts of Florida were not enjoying weather that was any warmer.
Many Muncians have read with a touch of sadness the notice in The Luminary a few weeks ago that the last of the passenger trains on the Reading railroad in this area has been discontinued. Not only is it the end of passenger service but also the end of an era.
Miss Florence Kitzmiller, of Unityville, became the bride of Leon L. Zeisloft, of Jersey Town, on Jan. 15.
