A very pleasant dance was held at “Oakland” the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ashhurst, last Thursday evening. The platform in the woods was used for the dancing.
Married- On July 18th at Turbotville, P.U. Opp of Moreland Twp. and Miss Eadle J. Savidge, of Turbotville.

Married: Charles H. Laudenslager and Hazel C. Bennet, both of Williamsport, were married on July 16.
Dimple, a Guernsey cow owned by Howard Gardner, of Opps, won the June contest of the Easter Lycoming Cow Testing Assoc. The cow produced 942 pounds of milk, testing seven and four-tenths per cent, making a yield of 69.7 pounds of butterfat. There was nine other high-producing cows.
Benjamin Anderson, of Muncy, met with a serious accident on Saturday when he fell from the hay mow at the farm of William Ives, and so seriously injuring his back that he is paralyzed below the waist, and he is in a very serious condition.
Walter Magargle, of Opp, has been nursing some cuts and bruises for the past week and congratulating himself on his narrow escape from death, when the motor truck which he was driving was struck by a freight train at the Pennsylvania railroad crossing near Muncy.
Deaths: Albert Bartlow died Saturday evening at the home of his son, James Bartlow, on Mechanic Street. He was aged 54 years.

Lycoming County’s first skywatch will begin at 8 a.m. Monday, July 14, at which time recruits of the Ground Observer Corps in 16 different areas of the county will man watching posts as a part of the county’s civilian defense program.

The Moreland Baptist church will be the scene of the marriage of Miss Vivian C. Gardner, of Muncy, and Tech. Sgt. Albert W. Keller of Linden, on July 12.

Hughesville Lodge No 331, I.O.O.F. will hold a picnic at the Trout Ponds Picnic Grounds on Saturday, July 30, in celebration of its 50th anniversary. All Odd Fellows and their families are most cordially invited and urged to attend. Means of conveyance to and from the grounds will be provided. A good time is assured all.
Mrs. Eva McGowan is spending this week camping with a party of friends.
Mrs. Roy McCarty of Jersey Shore is spending time with relatives in town.

Automobile accidents are found to be caused in many cases by the varying rules of the road in different states of the union, which lead to the confusion of drivers in interstate traffic.
