Perry Haas, convicted of the murder of Martin Oberdorf, about two years ago, committed suicide by cutting his throat with a razor, Sunday night, in the jail at Sunbury. Died-Rev. A.Heron, pastor of the Presbyterian church, die at his residence here on Saturday last, aged 55 years.

All the money for the erection of a parsonage at the old Emmanuel Lutheran church, in the Muncy Creek township, has been subscribed, and work on the building will begin at once.
The corner stone of the new Baptist Church in Moreland township was laid last Saturday afternoon.
Jacob Cooke, native, withstanding his 85 years, amuses himself by playing the violin.

Deaths: William H. Everett, 76, Muncy, died last Friday.
Charles Waldron has improved the street running along the South side of his residence by having the dirt removed and broken stone of different sizes placed in position, and then covered with a tarvia dressing, besides having concrete gutters laid n both sides.
Major Wallace L. Clay, U.S.A., who has been stationed at the Arsenal at Rock Island, Ill., for the past year, called on Muncy friends last Friday.
Married: Mr. William D. Clark and Miss Margaret A. Artley, both of Hughesville R.D.1, were married on Aug. 16th.

Word has been received her of the death of Mrs. D.D. Bastian, 81, the former Cornelia Goodenow. she died on July 31.

Mrs. D.K. Townsend and Miss Helen Beeber are spending a couple days in Philadelphia.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Norman Poust on Monday, a son, at the Williamsport Private Hospital.
Ralph Smith has been confined to his home by illness.
William A. Ball is building an addition to the shirt factory on Academy Street.
Work was commenced yesterday on the new cattle barn and sales stables at the fair grounds.
