On Tuesday night the dwelling house on High street, occupied by W.E. Mohr and sister, was destroyed by fire. The fire started by the explosion of a coal lamp.
While hunting in the woods, last week, John Baker, of Port Penn, was well peppered on the face and breast, with small shot, being taken for a pheasant by Chas Buck.

Every church in town was closed Sunday morning.
Deaths: At Bloomsburg on Oct. 14, Oliver Bruce Wells, aged 20.

About Town: On last Thursday afternoon, when officer Bobby Burns was having the very busiest kind of a time at the corner of Main and Water streets, a farmer in a Ford started around the “dummy” the wrong way. “Hey!” said Bobby, “where are you going”? Very meekly and calmly the farmer replied ” to the Hughesville Fair.”
Deaths: Mrs. Georgine Metzger of East Muncy died at 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon as the result of injuries sustained Friday evening when she was struck by a motor-car on the Muncy-Hughesville road.

Drs. W.R. Petrie and Paul R. Seibert, Muncy dentists, and Dr. J.E. Bontomase, general physician, were among the Lycoming county medical men classified 1-A by the county draft board on Wednesday and ordered to take army physical exams.

Edridge, Muncy, a daughter, Sept. 21; A daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Leon C.Myers Jr., Hughesville, Sept. 20; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hans, Montgomery, a daughter, Sept. 19; A son to C. Franklin Hess, Muncy, Sept. 17; A daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Merle Wishart, Hughesville, Sept. 21.
Deaths: Mary E. Reaser, 64, Allenwood, died Tuesday; George Taylor, 84, Muncy Valley, died Thursday.

October 12, 1922
The fifty-second annual fair of the Lycoming County Fair Association opened Tuesday with the finest exhibits ever seen in this section of the State. The Home Department is crowded with exhibits of needle work and fancy work of all description. The new Agricultural Building presents a very pretty appearance with the numerous displays of the merchants in town and Williamsport. The exhibit of fruit, canned goods and pastry is very fine. There is a larger display of blooded hogs than ever before. Also, a very fine display of blooded cattle.
C.E. Walters and Arthur Wilkins spent Sunday at Niagara Falls.
Mrs. Reeves of Philadelphia, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Harry Corson.
Mrs. Morris Shaffer is ill at her home on Main street.
George Bugh has gone to Philadelphia, where he will undergo treatment for his eyes.
Miss Dorothy Bullock, of Williamsport, is the guest of her aunt, Miss Maud Frontz.
Donald Myers and son, of Strawbridge, were visitors in town Tuesday.
A daughter was born on September 24, to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kepner, of Hughesville, R. D. 3.
Mrs. Kathryn Corson, who has been ill at the home of her sister at South Bethlehem, is reported serious.
Mr. Summers, reporter for the Williamsport Sun, was a caller in this place on Tuesday.
Ground was broken last week on North Third street, for a bungalow, 32×38 feet, by Levi, Tom and Howard Weaver. It will be occupied by the latter.
