We had quite a heavy snow storm on Tuesday.

On Sunday night thieves entered he residence of Jonathan Colley, at Port Penn, taking with them $140 in cash. The bell, weighing 1,000 pounds for the new school house, as arrived and will soon be placed in position.

Married-On Thursday evening, Nov. 9, Miss Carrie Delany was married to Mr. John A. Young, of Williamsport, at the bride’s home on South Main Street.

Local news was very scarce in this issue, the space being taken up with election returns.

Nov. 16, 1922

Deaths: Charles S. Dauberman, of Muncy, died at the Williamsport city hospital, early Tuesday morning, aged 40 years.

War Savings certificates, series of 1918, will mature Jan. 1, 1923.

A premature glimpse of winter was blown into the area early Monday on the heels of a rain and windstorm which visited here late Sunday afternoon and evening.

Misses Mabel and Esther Fritz returned to their home in Muncy on Tuesday from Clearfield hospital, where they were released for injuries sustained in an automobile accident which their sister-in-law, Mrs. Richard Fritz, of Berwick, was killed.

The Keystone Hook and Ladder Co. answered two alarms this week. On Monday morning, floorboards at the home of Paul Miller were ignited by a defect in an oil like and smoke damaged resulted. On Wednesday a pile of wood at the rear of the Kennth Hanna home on Quarry Road was quickly extinguished.

Married: Margaret Mary Hall, of Muncy, became the bride of William S. Harkowitz, of Philadelphia, Oct. 18.

Steven C. Frantz, native of Muncy, recently received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pathobiology from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, and left this week for a two-year research project in central Asia.

The Rev. Adam P. Bingaman, who in 40 years at St. John’s Lutheran Church, became one of the outstanding rural pastors in the U.S. died suddenly at his parsonage on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 29

Mileta Davis, of Muncy, became the bride of Thomas W. Joe, of New Columbia, Oct. 28.

Picture Rocks

Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Burrows attended the football game at Lewisburg Saturday.

The afternoon coffee was held at the home of Mrs. G.C. Hessler on Laurel street yesterday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. James Hodge, Mrs. Emma Hodge, Ellen Hodge and C.A. Sypher motored to Milton, Bloomsburg and Danville on Sunday.

Hughesville

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Corson and John Turner were recent visitors in Williamsport.

Harry Travelet and family have moved into the Boak property on South Railroad street.

Mrs. Jane Taylor is spending some time with her daughter, Mrs. John Sullivan, at Mawr Glen.

John Anderson, who had his leg broken when he fell from a car at Halls Station, three weeks ago, is improving.

Henry Glidewell is having his dance hall at Shady Nook inclosed and expects to hold dances there this winter.

Miss Grace Smith and Wilbur Ryan motored to Lock Have[n] Sunday to visit the latter’s sister, who is a patient at the hospital here.

Mr. and Mrs. Andy Odell and Mrs. Smith have moved into the house on North Main street, vacated by Louis Peale and family.

Oscar Hughes and family have moved into the house on Academy street recently purchased from W.S.Wieland.
