The news form California is of little interest. Collisions wit the Indians continue. A body of whites under Major Harvey attacked a party of Pasquals, and killed 25 of them. Another party of whites under Lieutenant Moore attacked a band of Indians on the Mercede River killing six and capturing 12.
The House of Representatives at Washington has passed a bill appropriating ten million acres of land for the support of indigent insane persons, in all states of the Union-the land to be distributed among them in due proportions. Should it receive the sanction of the Senate, it will of itself give lasting distinction to the 32nd congress.

Lewis Hill is the owner of a cow that produced 40 pounds of butter during the month of January.
Thieves broke into the chicken coops of Rev. George C. Drake and John H. Rooker on Thursday night and carried away a number of fine chickens.
Deaths: In Moreland township, on Friday, March 6th, Barclay Farr, aged 75 years.

Deaths: Sarah H. Corneilson, Munch, died Sunday afternoon at her home; Annie Fry Thomas died recently at her home in Catawiss. She was well known in Muncy having spent her girlhood days here with her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Tyreman.
Morris J. Colley met with an accident while carrying a heavy plank at the Reading station last Saturday when he slipped and fell the heavy piece of timber falling on his right arm crushing it.

Richard R. Edwards, Citizens Bank Head, Muncy resident, died Feb. 12 at his home . He was 65 years old.
Mrs. Raymond Gramley, well-known musician throughout the area, has accepted the position of organist and choir director of the Muncy Baptist Church.

Miss Betty Capelli became the bride of ElwinE.Marshall, of Muncy, on Feb. 14.
Deaths: Saide Masser, former Muncy resident, died Feb. 19; J. Beebe Michael, Muncy farmer, died Tuesday. He was 62 years of old; J.B. Stackhouse, 73, Unityville, died Feb. 21.

Howard VanBuskirk is spending some time with friends at Baltimore.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Per are spending a few days in New York City.
Amon Ashkar has gone to NYC where he will spend a week.
John Bateman has returned after spending a week in Philadelphia and NYC.
Born, Saturday to Mr. and Mrs. Earl Montague, a daughter.
The Bell Telephone company has a crew of men repairing their lines in this vicinity.
Contracts for the additions to both the silk mill and the Hughesville Furniture company have been awarded to William Ball.
C.L. Shipman is putting on the market a Self-rising buck wheat flour which is meeting with a good sale and promises to be another good asset for the town.
Grover Hill has broken ground for a cellar and will erect a residence on North Fourth street.
Rev. C.C. Mizener, who has been the pastor of the Evangelical church for a number of years, has been transferred to Juniata, Pa. Rev. M.A. Kennelly has been assigned to Hughesville.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Derr, of Williamsport, have moved into the McCarty property on Academy street, vacated Chapman Henry and family.
Carpenters have been remodeling the Bartlow garage building recently purchased by George H. Miller. They expect to have the store rooms ready by April 1. The remainder of the building will be made into apartments.
The allotment of vegetable seed for the 16th Congressional District is now available. Anyone desiring a package can procure same by writing Hon. Edgar R. Kiess, House of Representatives, Washington, D.C.
