While John Allen, Esq., and S.J. Fisher of MOntoursville, were driving near the residence of Adam Aves in Muncy Creek township, their horse took fright and threw the gentlemen out, but they were only slightly injured.

Ground has been broken for a Presbyterian church at Montoursville.
Miss Annie Sprout entertained last Wednesday evening in honor of her guests, Miss Kellinger and the Misses Wallace. Watt’s orchestra furnished the music for dancing.
A heavy granite grave marker has been set up at the grave of Capt. John Brady, at Hall’s Burying Ground.

The bodies of Irving Selzer and Murray Hill, both of Hughesville, who were drowned in the lake at Eagles Mere Sunday night while canoeing, were founded on Tuesday.
Marriage of Eleanor Merrick Reeder and Dr. Harold Frederick Baker, of this pace, was solemnized this Thursday at high noon.
Deaths: Michael Myers died at his home on West Edwin Street, Williamsport, Tuesday of last week; Harry C. Brown died Saturday at his home on Green street. He was 45.

Aug. 9, 1923
Death
President Harding died instantly and without warning at the Palace Hotel, San Francisco, Calif., last Thursday night at 7:30 o’clock while conversing with his family. Death was due to apoplexy.
Sales Register
Edward Miller will offer his farm in Moreland township at private sale, consisting of 86 acres, 25 woodland, well-timbered with hemlock and pine about 125,000 feet. The farm is improved with seven-room plank house, bank barn and out buidings.
C.F. Johnson, Executor, will expose to public sale the following personal effects of the late Morgaret W. Busler, North Second street on Saturday, August 18, 1923, at one o’clock P.M.: chairs, rockers, 9×12 rugs, silverware, dishes, parlor suite, 8-day clock, bedroom suite, 6 dining chairs, dining table and many articles too numerous to mention.
There will be exposed to Public Sale at the School Building, Hughesville, Pa, on Thursday evening, August 16, at 6:30 o’clock: 40 school desks of different sizes, all in good condition.

Miss Anna Sutliff is suffering with an injured foot, the result of a heavy cake of ice falling upon it.
The twenty-first annual meeting of the Rogers Family Association will be held on the Fair Ground at Forksville, Pa., on Wednesday, August 22.
Harry Corson has purchased a new Chalmers sedan.
The members of the fire company are requested to report to the hose house next Wednesday evening, August 15, for test and practice work. The chief requests every member of the company to be on hand promptly at 7 o’clock.

A man who can play thirty-six holes of golf without getting tired is frequently too exhausted to empty the pan under the ice chest.
Three hundred athletes from the United States will compete in the Olympic games in Paris next year. The cost of sending them to Paris will be $300,00.
