Storm

One of the worst storms in years, which was termed “a cloud burst,” passed over this section south of town late Saturday night. The most damage was done in the Little Muncy Creek basin and to the south, the streams were soon over the banks destroying crops and carrying livestock away. George Latimer, the cattle dealer, met death in the stream. He was at his cabin along the creek accompanied by Mr. Bryfogle, when the water surrounded them and making a raft they endeavored to get to the shore but were caught in the current and carried down the stream. Bryfogle was rescued from a tree. The funeral of Mr. Latimer took place from the residence yesterday afternoon at 2:30. Muncy Lodge No.299, F.&A.M. attended in a body.
