Six area persons were killed as a result of automobile accident which occurred on Oct. 21 on the Hughesville Lairdsville highway near the cart racing oval. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kepner and two of their nine children died. Also dead are Roger Wilson, 21, of Muncy, and Steven Stutzman, 18, of Hughesville.

Married: Teresa Jean Hauck, Muncy, and Timothy Clark Patton, Annsville, Oct. 13. Rebecca Jo Waltman, Muncy, and Michael H. Fought, of Hughesville, exchanged vows on Oct. 20.

Births: Mr. and Mrs. Oliver D. Sones, Muncy, son, Oct. 9; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Filipkowski, Picture Rocks, son Oct. 9; Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Seele, Hughesville, daughter, Oct. 10; Mr. and Mrs. Merl Kitner, Allenwood, son, Oct. 20; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Womelsdorf, daughter, Oct. 17; Mr. and Mrs. William Smith, Muncy, son, Oct. 19; Mr. and Mrs. David Ball, Jr., Muncy, son, Oct. 22; Mr. and Mrs. Leon McCaslin, Muncy, daughter, Oct. 22.

Picture Rocks

The Picture Rocks school won the silver cup and also twenty-five dollars in money at the Hughesville fair, for its collection of exhibits from the junior fair. The exhibits were selected from articles that had taken first prize at the junior fair.

The American Legion will hold a chicken waffle supper in the Baptist church parlors on Saturday evening, October 27.

Misses Mary Roller and Blanche Ives have gone to Williamsport, where they will be employed.

Town

Miss Lillian Russell has gone to Washington, D.C., where she will spend some time.

Mr. and Mrs. Theo A. Boak are spending a few days at Clifton Springs and Buffalo, N.Y.

Mrs. H. Augusta Fague has returned home in Watsontown, after spending several days in town.

Mrs. C.D. Moore is spending this week at Unityville as a guest at the home of her brother, William McCarty.

Mr. and Mrs. Royal Busler and daughter, Dorothy, motored to Eagles Mere and Laporte Sunday, and visited with relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. William Benshaw, of Renov[a], have been spending a few days as guests at the home of the latter’s father, John Hessler, on Cottage street.

The Directors of the United Buyers Mfg. Co. met at the office in this place on Monday, October 15, and declared a quarterly dividend of 2%, payable next week.

Funeral

Funeral services for Mrs. William G. Hauke were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H.E. Renninger, 401 Brandon Avenue, Williamsport. Burial was made at the White Church cemetery, near Halls. She was a former resident of this place.
